Hi to you and WELCOME!!!
It sounds like you feel like most of us did when we were first out of surgery and learning the ropes!
I am not sure what the guidelines are for VSG-as far as intake goes. There is an OH board that is dedicated to the VSG surgery. If you need a link, let me know and I will get it for you.

Some things will be true regardless of surgery-
Protein
Hydration
Supplementation
Exercise
Only the amount will vary from person to person.
I had RNY. When I was very first out-I was on liquids. I stayed on liquids for 4 weeks. After that I moved to soft/liquids (liked mashed potato's-but very watered down). I started out using those little plastic shot glasses they sell at the grocery. Each one holds an "ounce". I knew I was going to only be taking in about an ounce or two at a time for those first few weeks.
During my first year of WLS I never ate more than a half cup in one sitting. It took over two years to be able to eat more. It is important that you are sure your portions are followed by volume-rather than weight.
Again-I think if you talk to other VSG'ers they will share their guidelines with you as well.
I am SO glad you are here and participating. As you can see-we need to get things moving around here!!
Peace.

Oh, yes, I recall this being really tough at first - my pouch didn't seem t know when it was full until a good 8-10 weeks out I think.
I try to make plate portions slightly smaller than my fist (better than carrying an egg around ;-) - once chewed it generally seems to be the right amount for me. This would be less for "coarse" things like meats, turkey, chicken, etc.
