Hey all!

We now have 47 members on our little board here! That is GREAT NEWS!

The busy holiday season is upon us. I think for many of us this time of year can hold lots of stress and temptation. I also think it can hold lots of hopeful times and chances to start anew.

I would like to hear what your plans are for this season and how you plan on handling stress, social settings and family time.

Some of you are awaiting your upcoming surgeries, and others have long since had your surgery.

Please consider offering your experiences and ways of dealing with such issues. You never know who you can help by sharing. One thing I know for sure-however..you will help yourself by sharing!

This is my first winter Holiday season in England. Things are still pretty new for me. I am planning on writing my food down each day-by using Spark People (an online food journal). I find that in busy times-it really helps to write it down. Otherwise at the end of the day-there is just NO way I can recall what I ate! LOL!

I am also planning on meeting my fluid intake requirements. Now-that doesn't sound glamorous-but dehydration is a monster if you have ever experienced it. Cold weather is a big culprit for this happening.

Last-I plan on coming to the board at LEAST once per week and sharing and seeing what everyone is up to.

Ok-tag-you are IT!!

Thanks to all of you!!
Peace,
T

Declined the invite to the office Christmas lunch this year.   Would cost me £18 for a lunch (set Chrsitmas menu) I cannot possibly eat.  Luckily I have annual leave booked that day already so don't have to really explain my choice not to attend.  Thought it better just to pop out for drinks with colleagues another night instead.

Never realised before how many social situations involve food in a big way!

Like the last poster, i have opted out of the work Christmas meal. I was going to go but it is £28 a head without drink (about $40) and that seems daft when i would only eat about 1/4 of it , if that!

Otherwise, I plan to eat and drink anything and everything I fancy. Just not much of it! That is the joy of maintaining for me. I can go off track for a few weeks and then it takes about 3 or so weeks to get back into my weight comfort zone.

Just like "normal" slim people!!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

That is SO funny-because I am JUST like you that way.

Two weeks of messing around and then I do my boot-camp and I am back in the swing. I refuse to live as if I am on a diet for the rest of my life. I pay attention and I weigh each day and there are just lines I won't cross on the scale. I am GRATEFUL that I have the desire and willingness to be sure to do that.

So-are you staying near home for the holidays?

Peace,
T

Hi! No, we are doing something most people find a bit bizarre! We are taking the Norwegian Mail ferry from Bergen to Kirkenes (Russian border). On Christmas Day we will be in Trondheim! On Boxing Day we will be driving huskies!! As we will be well north into the Arctic, it will be 24 hours of night time! But apparently the snow reflects enough to keep it a sort of twilight! And we hope( please, please, please) to see the Northern Lights.

What are you doing?
