A little update on me!!

Ok I thought I would update on how my pregnancy is going and check that everyone else here is doing ok!!

I am now 17 weeks pregnant (well 17 weeks tomorrow!), and am thank goodness starting to feel really good!! I was so sick for ages, but it has gone now thankfully and I am now battling the dreaded hunger . All I seem to want to do is eat, and I have been craving lots of things (some healthy, some definately not!). I had a thing for bananas a few weeks ago and had to stop myself eating too many! I have had a craving all week for a Big Mac from Mcdonalds, and gave in yesterday.... I took a few mouthfuls and felt ill all afternoon, so serves me right!

I have actually put on about 10lbs now (a little more than I was hoping for at this stage), but I am watching what I'm eating and still keeping active (swimming, lots of walking and yoga) so hopefully the weight gain will be minimal!!

So how is everyone else doing? I'm getting excited about christmas now!! I can't believe it'll be our last one alone this year! We're going to try and make the most of it, as I'm sure next christmas will be hectic!!!

Best wishes to everyone!

Vicky

Good to hear from you and so glad all is going well.

Are you getting really tired? I remember being really weary while pregnant and I think you teach young children, don't you? Tiring at the best of times!

And your first married Christmas! Will you be with family or are you having a quiet time with just the two ( and a  bit ) of you?

Kate

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Hi Kate!

The tiredness has subsided somewhat thank goodness!! I had a spell of about a month earlier in the pregnancy where I just came home from work and went to bed I was so exhausted! I now see, to have some energy again, although like you said teaching little ones is tiring at the best of times!!

I am so excited about christmas! We haven't actually decided what we're going to do yet! I love christmas with family, but I am thinking it would be nice to be just the two of us this year!!

Hope all is well with you, and that you've recovered from your trip away!!

Hey lovely mum-to-be!

Go****'s been SO long since I was pregnant! My son is now 25! LOL!

You know-you have gone through lots with your body and your new life. I think if you are aware of your intake and you are coming here to share about it-you are doing GREAT! I say start worrying if you start isolating and hiding in your food. I don't see that happening for you.

You will crave and you will gain some weight too. That's all OK. There are lots of great ways to get support for now. It's much like when we had our WLS. We decided we would follow certain rules so that we could reach our goal-which is really health. You did that-you are doing that now!

Think of it this way. When that baby is born-you can either feel really great about your choices and how you supported that wonderful body of your's and your baby's body too. Or-you can feel awful because you were too much "into" the food.

Give yourself a break and also take yourself seriously. I know it's hard to be both! LOL! The basics-and I know you know these-decide what your intake needs to be-and LOG that food.

Use an online journal or even come here and share. Hey-we don't have a What did you eat today thread here yet!

You are doing GREAT!!!

Hugs,
T

Thanks for the reply!! I have been logging my food, and for the most part am making healthy choices! I am giving in to the odd craving, only because I'd probably go mad otherwise!!

I am not too concerned with my weight gain so far..everyone seems happy with it, my midwife actually said it is less of a gain than what is 'normal' for this stage of pregnancy, but the baby is doing well so they are happy!

It is so hard not to obsess over food now! At first seeing the scales go up was a bit scary, but it is all good, and I'm staying on track and keeping active as best as I can so I'm feeling proud of myself!!

You don't look old enough to have a 25  year old son!! I am 25 next month and I bet my mum wishes she looked like you ( not that she doesn't look great!).

Anyway, hope all is well with you, and best wishes!

You are doing perfectly! I am really looking forward to getting to watch your journey progress. We might have to have a virtual baby shower!! How fun!!

Oh and BLESS you for saying I don't look old enough to have a 25 year old son! There is space in the house now-I can move you in and you can tell me that each day!! :) :)

LOL!!

Hugs!
