So-what's FUN??
Hi all,
I would love to hear what you all do for fun. Do you have any hobbies? When the weekend rolls round-or holiday time, what do you like to do?
I am still pretty new to the country, having moved from American in January. So far I LOVE to take drives and snap pictures of the gorgeous countryside. There are SO many beautiful places and stately homes to see as well.
I live in the Lancashire area. Any ideas of interesting or fun things??
Please share!!
Happy Friday,
Therese

Lake District - mix of chocolate box pretty (but can't see for tourists) and open fells. Interspersed with rolling crags and woodland. Don't go July/August, too many people! No different to many parts fo the US probably but small scale so you can see lots of different countryside.
But do take time out to visit London. It is vast but still a walkable city. Just find a hotel which is fairly central and walk!
Head into North Wales - gorgeous beaches, magificent Snowdonia National Park, rolling, green mid-Wales and as many romantic 900 year old castles as you can face visiting. Look for places like Harlech. My experience with visitors from the US is they love castles!! Easy weekend visit for you.
Me - my main hobby is travel. DH and I tend to pack backpacks and head off. Plane to wherever and then local trains and buses to the sort of remote place where people want to touch my hair because they have never seen blonde hair, or take photos of Mike because they have never seen a 6ft 6in male with a beard before!! Asia, Africa, Europe! Love it all!!
Bit curtailed at the moment because I have lost my nerve slightly after being knocked down by a motorbike in Hanoi and had to be flown home by the insurance company with my leg in plaster!! Totally fine now, but did bring home to me how vulnerable we are in more out of the way places. I didn't realise anthing was broken and so limped on (with great difficulty!!) to our next destination which was up in the hills by the Chinese border. Realised needed help and the hospital was very friendly but I wouldn' t have let them anywhere near me with a needle!! Very third world!! Did realise that it is much easier for those people who travel with tour groups and guides who speak the language!!! Luckily i speak French and some of the Vietnamese did a bit too.

Well, what a time. He is SOOOO gorgeous - & he rembered me from years ago & commented on how I had changed! He said I looked fantastic, bless him!
He asked how I had done it & I explained about the Gastric Bypass. He said "You must feel so much better" (of course!) And "well done!"
I wanted to post our pics but don't know how ... help anyone? (Do I have to do it by a link to somewhere?)
