Thanks Kate!

You are the perfect example of why research and being ready makes all the difference in your success! You took your time and decided on the right route for YOU and your success is crystal clear.

The other thing I have noticed the successful folks do is to support others going down the same path. You are excellent at this and I believe many have been helped and given some comfort as they embark on their band surgery (and other surgeries too!).

Thanks for always sharing your experience with honesty and integrity. I , for one-VERY much appreciate you!

Peace,
T

OK...I'm Jessica, a Puerto Rican born, New York raised woman married to a Brit from Solihull now living in Stoke-on-Trent............Got that? Good...onto the rest!

I'm a mother of twins, 6 years old. I'm currently 250lbs, down from 285 since October. I've JUST ben refered to the bariatric surgeon by my GP so I don't know if I'll be approved at all...Either way, I need a support network of people that really know what I'm going through.

I hope I can find some locals!

Hey Jessica,

Welcome!! Wow-TWINS?? Boys or girls? Your hands must be full.

There are some great folks here on this board and regardless of surgery-you will find some good support.

I have been around since 2005-ish and I have found so much information and support here. I don't think I would have done half as well as I have without it.

We are here any time!!

Peace,
Therese

I'm Dondra:)

In what area do you live? Berkshire

What brought you to OH? Searching for a large WLS community.

Where are you in the process of Weight Loss Surgery?  I'm awating for my first consult with the surgeon, again...as had 1, but with inexperienced surgeon and I am supe rhigh risk.

(This board is also for non-ops, so if you are not having the surgery-feel free to share here too!!) Are you awaiting surgery? Years past surgery?  I am waiting surgery but have had funding since Feb on the NHS.

What are your areas of greatest struggle currently? patience in waiting for things to happen.  Also currently on low carb diet trying to shed some lbs before going to surgeon.

What are your hobbies?  writing poetry, vlogging, blogging, facebook, watching films, gardening

What would be helpful for you here on this UK site as far as support goes?  just support and sharing of ideas

Some folks like to find excercise buddies, others are looking to share recipies and still others just need an ear. How about you? I'm just looking for chat buddies and ideas of where to get products to assist WLS....as I too am an American living here, I am not used to serious lack of choice for shopping.

Anything else you would like to share about your self to help us get to know you better? Um....I'm probably one of the fattest woman in england. (not exaggerating!)

Any ideas for threads you would like to see and participate in? not really, lol.

Hey Dondra!!

So glad you wrote!! I appreciate hearing more about you.

Wow-who knew there were SO many of us Americans over here! LOL!

I need to find out where Berkshire is from here. We could TOTALLY do some coffee (or TEA! LOL!) some time if you wanted?

It rocks that you have gotten funding! How long have you lived in the UK? I know that must have been some work. I am SO grateful for having the NHS though.

I would love to chat with you any time. If you want-message me with your email and we can get an IM going.

As far as the fattest woman in England-my start weight was around 400 lbs. NOT the fattest girl in the world-but I lived in CALIFORNIA! Need I say "Shallow" OMG-the HORROR of the way people acted towards me-EW! How do you feel you are treated here? Are people better or worse towards you??

Again-THANKS for posting-we gotta get this board going!

Peace,
T

Hey Redd,

What part of California?  I was raised in the bay area in the Antioch/Concord area.  I lived in Boise 3 years before I moved here though.

You found people more shallow in America than here?!?!?!  I have found the complete opposite. People here are outright mean.

My email and msn chat ID is [email protected]

Hey Dondra!

What a small WORLD! LOL! I lived in Alameda-and I KNOW you must know where that is!

I was raised in Southern CA-Simi Valley.

I live in a small town in Lancashire and the folks here are really friendly. I am REALLY glad for that. It's hard being a new kid for REAL!!

I wrote down your chat name-I will add you!

Take care,
T
