Skellig
For those of you interested, did anyone else see Skellig?
I enjoyed it, but then again I'm a fantasy fan. Hubbie says he didn't enjoy it but managed to sit and watch it through! It was strange seeing Sam Tyler from Life on Mars in it as the Dad, but I got used to it quickly.
It was full of symbolism which I haven't worked out much of yet, what was with the spiders and mushrooms in his room and the insects? Loved the character Skellig and thought they portrayed him really well - wings were very realistic I thought.
I thought the ending was a bit weak, but it has made me want to read the book as it looks like they had to skim over lots of detail that I'm hoping is in the book.
What did others think about it?

Oh Ruth! You are just the best for doing a review of this!! Thanks!! Yes-please read the book. It is very beautifully done and I think it is perfect for young and old alike. I bet you will love it!!
I wondered if they would have a hard time filling in all the detail in the movie. It makes sense that they might not be successful-since the book is so incredibly rich in detail!
Thanks again,
T
