scared well apprehensive to have gastric bypass

hi all am looking for some input to help me make a decision...to have or not to have a gp...had lap band removed 14 months ago...and have gained all my weight back...am very uncomfortable with all of it...and have been fighting the idea of having a gastric bypass. actually at this point am not sure if i an eligible for it because the lap band stretched my esphagus but would like to know some experiences of people who have had this done...and if they are happy about it ...i am having a difficult time struggling with the thoughts of it all...i will be going to talk with a support group in my area in a few weeks but am curious how others are doing with it all....if you could offer me some help ...about me ...i am in my 70s and in fairly good health but having a hard time exercising right now because of the weight.
