Met Dr. Buchwald Today

LOVED HIM...he was serious, he was humorous, and made me feel totally comfortable with my decision. Of course, Tammy, his face lit up when I mentioned I had met you already. I'm anxious to keep moving forward with this process and making the call to Danette in the morning to get the next step scheduled. Sure was hard to concentrate at work after that - LOL. p.s. - the chairs at the clinic were the MOST comfortable and obese friendly I've ever sat in - almost like a mini sofa! Totally nice and very thoughtful on the clinic's part. I do have a couple of questions though - like, why can't we drink milk? I realize they want you to "eat" your protein, but when skim milk is a protein and calcium source, I don't see why you couldn't have 1 C. per day.  Hmmmm...scratches head & makes note to call dietician tomorrow... In the nutrition class, they said we could eventually have ceral soaked in milk, so it just seems a little conflicting. I could write a book, but all in all, just wanted to say how grateful I am to have this appointment behind me and know that the process has officially begun! WOOT!

Glad you meet the great and powerful Oz, oops I meant Dr. Buchwald.  But Danielle can kinda be like the guy in green that doesn't let them into see the Oz right away can't she... I remembered the same feeling about the chairs.  I felt so skinny in them.  I no time you'll feel that way about most chairs. I don't recal that they said we could not drink milk.  Some people are lactose intollerant after surgery but I've had no problem.  There are more carbs in milk.  Tiffany found a low carb milk.  I couldn't find it but I'm sure she'll be at the support group meeting.  Sometimes the nuts there are more RYN minded than DS. You're at that stage of the roller coaster ride where the cars are clicking up the first hill.... click-a, click-a, click-a.
