Topic: Checking in
Just checking in to see how everyone is doing.  I have been home from the hospital two weeks today!  I tried to go back to work Monday but just was not strong enough, so I took another week off.  My husband only took one week of leave, and has been working so so much since I have hardly seen him. ( hint for anyone pre op)  Make sure you have someone other than your spouse who can go to commmissary for you.  My oldest is here to help me but she no longer has an ID so I have been relying on my 15 and 16 year old to shop for me.  You would be amazed at some of the things they come home with.  Any way feeling stronger everyday.   Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi everyone,
I'm Brooke.  I'm 32 years old and I'm a Navy wife.  We are stationed in Pensacola, Florida.  I've been on Tricare Standard for almost 9 years, with the exception of the two years we lived in Japan.   I have not had surgery, but plan to have RNY.  I am almost to the end of my requirements and therefore, should have a date in the next month or so for sugery.  I'm hoping!  I'm looking forward to getting to know ya'll.

Topic: RE: What is 200% of my Ideal Body Weight?

That seems to be worded awkwardly...however I interprate that to mean you have to be 2x your ideal body weight . So if your ideal body weight is 130 for your height you need to weight 260 or more.  I don't have any comorbidities but I am approved through tri-care with my appt. with my surgeon Nov. 22, 2010 due to being more then 2x my ideal body weight. At  5'5 your ideal body weight would be 117-130 for a small frame, 127-141 for a medium frame and 137-155 for a large frame. Most people have a medium frame so if that is the case you would need to be between 254-282 to be 2x your ideal body weight. I hope that helps.

Topic: Weekly chat
I suggest a weekly chat session on Saturday night or something so we can talk to each other and ask questions or just talk about different experiences in the military branches and locations.

Hi ya'll! My name is Danie and I am an Army spouse and a nurse. I am and LPN and currently in school for my RN. Hubby is deployed in Iraq has been there 11 months now and should get back right after Chrismas. I have my lab tests scheduled Nov. 22 and will meet with my surgeon to schedule my RNY that day. I want it to be Dec. 16 since that is the day after my last final and a week before Christmas. My schedule will be crazy pretty much until I graduate in May and then in June Hubby and I PCS to Hawaii so I hope to be down around 60-70lbs by then.  If anyone else is in the Ft. Riley area and wants a buddy let me know I don't really have anyone out here to go to the gym with. :)

Topic: RE: Tricare PRIME and plastics after WLS - HELP!
I have been told once we are stable we are able to get a panniculectomy rather easy.  Because most of will suffer from rash and infections and such.  But to get a full tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can be difficult, you have to prove the stretched out muscles are in need of tightening.
