Hi! I'm Linda and I live in Utah. I'm waiting for my husband to retire next year; he's currently stationed in Okinawa Japan in the USAF.

I had surgery 1 week ago today. I still feel like I've been hit by a bus, but I don't regret it. I'm looking forward to my new life and looking forward to doing STUFF. Like ice skating, snowboarding, riding my bike, riding a horse, fencing and getting back to one of my absolute loves: Hula. I cannot wait to see how I move without the fat suit.

The journey will be interesting, but the destination is worth it!!

Hi yall,

My name is Kim. My husband is in the Coast Guard and we currently live in Chattanooga, TN. I am on Tricare Prime Remote. So if yall have any questions about how tricare works, dont be afriad to PM me. BTW prime remote is the same as prime only you get reimbursed for travel if you are at least 90 miles from an MTF.

thanx

HI all, i'm glad to know there are other Military wives out there, that are willing to share and talk about the surgery's.
They do not preform here in Japan, i had mine done before we moved in Sept. So its hard to talk to anyone about it.. So i keep it to myself...
Nice to meet all ya'll.. i hang around from time to time..
I hope ya'll had a great christmas and a Great New Year..
take care

Hey, I'm a 33 yr old Air Force wife, who has had 2 WLS. I initially chose the band, and then revised to the VSG this past June.

I've been up and down Tricare Prime for over 2 years now, and have the process down pat. I also have the luxury of seeing a civilian PCM because we don't live on base, and our MTF here is always booked.

My initial band surgery was performed by a civilian surgeon, and it was a deplorable experience. I researched our neighboring base, and found out they did offer/approve VSG, and I sought out a revision. Best decision I could of ever made.

I hit my goal this morning, actually 1lb below goal. So, now I have to figure out how to maintain my weight.

Hope to get to know everyone, and Happy New Year.
Band to VSG revision: June 3, 2009

Hi my name is Gillian and I am a Navy wife and Mom to two school age kids.  My husband is stationed in San Diego and I had my surgery at Balboa.  It was a great experience and I have no regrets.  I am almost 3 months out so still definitely a newbie but it is the best thing that I could have done for myself.

Hi, I am Tiffani and I am almost 3 months out.  My husband is in the Army and we are stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.  We have been here since August 2008.  Its alright, but obviously cold in the winter.  The summers are beautiful though.  I had to travel down to Anchorage to have my surgery, but I am so glad I did, even if it meant spending 2 weeks in a hotel.
I guess thats it, I am glad to be able to connect with some other military spouses on OH!
