I didn't lose anything from the first wee****il just a few days ago! (Surgery was on 3/25--no idea how to add that to my profile). I was getting upset about it, even though at the same time I realized that I was doing everything I was supposed to.

Part of my problem was constipation I think, and once I took a stool softener, I started losing. I'm down 23.4 pounds total since 3/8. Much  more than I would have been able to lose on my own.

I started officially exercising last Saturday and I think that has really helped me with inches, and I'm hoping it continues to help me lose. Today I spent 35 minutes on the treadmill and felt great afterwards. Can't wait to do weight training, water aerobics, and yoga again!

I'm doing the stall thiing also but I refuse to get worked up about it. Just trying to keep those fluids going and up the protin. I have read some popsts saying that upping both calories and fluid will help break the stall though. Your doing awesome so try not to stress out about it.

Well done on your weight loss.  I am only 24lb since surgery so you are doing fabulously well despite your stall.  That will soon be over.
So relate to the lack of water.  I just haven't got the time to drink...Also to eat.  still don't feel hungry and forget to eat.  Crazy that before the op I couldn't understand those who forget to eat...now that someone is me!!!
Don't really have a lot of time for walking as work is manic so I bought a Wii  and do Wii fit.  Lots of step aerobics in the morning before work and a little after.  I can get in about 30 mins most days.
Will look forward to seeing the new you
Well done

Hi March VSGer's!! Today is 1 month for me. I have lost a total of 44 lbs.....31 of those since day of surgery. It has not been too bad but at the same time it has not been too easy either for me as far as getting in the liquids. I have been at a stall for over a week and a half and I bet is because of not getting in my liquids.   Pre-op I used to drink 64 to 100 ozs. of liquid a day and since surgery I have yet to hit 64 ozs.   I keep trying every day but just can't seem to get there and I am definitely feeling the effects. My throat has become somewhat sore , my mouth is a bit white, my skin is very dry and it seems my tummy is beginning to have make more acid. I am taking prilosec and have sometimes taken 2 a day depending on how my tummy feels.  I was not getting in enough protein either for awhile there but have since moved to pureed foods and upped my calories to about 500 a day and sometimes have reached 600. So I still have a lot of learning and work to do.

My other issue is my hernia.   With my weight loss my belly has started to hang and the hernia is pulling on my belly causing some discomfort when I walk. My surgeon did not want to repair the hernia so that in the future when I have lost most of my belly fat he can repair the hernia and also remove the excess skin from my belly and have it covered. I hope that does not bite me in the end. I am looking into ordering a binder so that I could get my walking in without pain.  All in all I am happy with my decision and my weight loss and look forward to this stall to be over and continue with the weight loss.  I have lost in inches also and will post some pictures on my profile in the next few days hopefully.    I hope that all new VSGer's are doing well and having a descent and uneventful recovery!!

I stayed off the scale until my follow up appointment yesterday.  In the past 4 weeks I lost 8.5 lbs.  I was really hoping for more, but since I started this journey in August I've lost 53 lbs.  Now that I'm on solids and so-called maintenance, I'm probably gonna start weighing myself once a week now.  I know I need to get to exercising, but I've been lax in getting all my protein in and water/liquids.  I'm hoping to lose 16 pounds by my next appointment on May 27.  Really gonna have to beef things up to get that done.  GYM TIME here I come.
