Hi everybody My name is Holly and I am scheduled for my sleeve on March 8th. Yes , thank you Cathi for making this group. Great idea! Tracy when I read your post I identified with you for so many reasons. I an obese child (smallest baby also and now the largest sibling, I have 4 brothers and I am bigger than all of them!) Teased throughout my childhood, self esteem issues and anxiety I can totally relate. I started weigh****chers when I was nine! When I went to the surgeons office and they asked me how many diets I have tried, I filled the page.
I am a nurse for 26 years and have been married 20 years and we have an 11 year old son. My husband had RNY a year and a half ago and has lost 110 lbs, I think if we would have known more about the VSG back then he would have gone that route also. So needless to say this is a decision that I carefully considered and truly believe that it is the right choice for me. I have been out about my surgery decision since October. I had some reservations about how my decision would be received but I have found that everybody has been very supportive and excited for me.
I am currently weaning off of my coffee addiction (for lack of a better word) and getting ready to start my liquid diet. I am so thankful for this OH web site it has tempered so much of my anxiety and I have learned so much for the many wonderful "Losers" on here! Can't wait to be a big loser too in the coming months!! Yay us!

Hello, Tracy!
My name is Autumn and I am having VSG on Mar 15 also w/ Dr. Kelly. Originally was Dr. Almanza but read some things on here that concerned me and I switched after reading such good reviews on Kelly. I just can't figure out how to change it my profile! Good luck and let me know how it goes - I cannot imagine going alone. My dad is going with me and I am still terrifed! Wish we could be there at the same time, but I will miss you by just a few days! Take care!

Hello everyone,
My name is Tracy and I am a March Sleever! I want to thank Cathi for making this a group, I think it's a great idea! Here is a little bit about me.
I am 39 years old, married, and have 2 stepsons who have welcomed me into their family with open arms. I have been overweight / obese my entire life, except for at birth. I Surprisingly I was the smallest baby my mom had out of the 4 of us. I was 7 pounds. Now I'm the largest; always have been. Ironic huh?
I was teased and made fun of my whole life. Even as an adult I can feel the stares and hear the whispers. I have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for as long as I can remember and I am very uncomfortable around people I don't know. I am also uncomfortable around large groups of people, even if it's my own family.
I have tried countless diets and was successful with some but I have never lost all of the weight I needed and I always gained back everything plus some. I never in a million years would have thought I would turn to surgery to help with my weight loss, but here I am.
When I finally made the decision to have surgery I originally looked into the Lap Band. While researching, I stumbled upon information on the VSG. I had never heard of this procedure before but the more I read about it the more I realized this was the one for me.
I am so excited to have finally found something I feel will work for me! I haven't felt so optimistic about anything I have tried in the past. At this point I am still very excited but I know my nerves will set in the closer my date gets.
My surgeon is Dr. Jaime Ricardo Ramos Kelly in Tijuana, Mexico. I have read so many wonderful things about him so I am very happy with my choice. My biggest problem is going to be flying to San Diego and staying in Tijuana by myself. But I think once I get there all of my fears will fade away.
Well, that's my little intro!
I look forward to meeting the rest of you!
