Question: Where do you live (city, state or just state) and are you having your surgery done close to where you live?
If so, where at? (For example: city, state or just state).
If not, where will you have the surgery done (city, state or state).
I am from a small town called Romsey in Hampshire and I am having my surgery in Southampton which is about 15 minutes drive from where I live.

Hi to everyone in the March sleevers
This is a great way to get to know everyone. I am having my surgery in the UK on March 17th and my surgeon is Jamie Kelly but he is from Southampton, Hants not Mexico.....Anyway my road to this has been long and hard. Again a big girl all my life but a usual size at birth. My mum said that I was a hungry baby and that I was always crying for food. That never changed....
I am 45 now and starting to get a few pains in my joints so went to my GP who asked me if I had considered surgery. He refered me to Jamie. I was adamant that I wanted a band as I was also concerned about the malabsorbtion thing. What happens in the future if I need to have it reversed etc...But after my consultation and lots of explainations of each procedure it was recommended that I have the Sleeve. So here we all are
My surgeon has not put me on liquid diet to reduce the size of my liver. I have to eat a small (1 weetabix for breakfast, 2oz meat, fish or 2 eggs with salad and 1 slice of bread for lunch, 2oz meat (as lunch) vegetables, but not root veg for tea and 1/3pt milk, 2 pieces of fruit, 1 sugar and fat free yoghurt and lots of water tea or coffee or diet drinks and after surgery I will be discharged on a pureed diet. So reading about all the liquids and protein shakes that people are having to take is different for me. Maybe it is because I am in the Uk and they have different thoughts.
Anyway good luck to all of us and It will be Strange to be slim for the first time in our lives...Very strange
