Prayers are winging your way for safe travel, safe surgery, and a quick and speedy recovery. I'll be in surgery, too, at 11:30. Can't wait to share our experiences.

Oh no!!! Well I wish we could be sleeved on the same day! It would be nice to have someone there that I talked to before.  Anyway I will definitely let you know how it goes.

I am about to check out your blog. I am definitley a WLS blog stalker, I check my blog feeds pretty much everyday. I get so much good info from there!

Let me know what they tell you. I was planning on calling them myself today, but I got busy at work today. I am 1 week into my low carb diet.  20gms of carbs is hard, but at least when I eat I feel satiated and I am starting not to be super hungry. Dr. Macik prescribed me appetite suppressants because I seemed to be melting down (and not in a good way) about food and you know about the whole "Don't gain 1lb more than when you first got here" rule.  Anyway, they helped a LOT, but I def don't need them anymore.

The paperwork Dr. Maciks office sent me with my date info on it said on the bottom, "Meats, Cheese, Eggs, and Green Leafy Vegetables ONLY" so I have been trying to stick with that. I have sugar free jello, a little almond milk, cucumbers and avocado. Otherwise I have pretty much stuck to the plan. With that I have been under 20 gms pretty much every day. But it is NOT easy, especially working in my office where there is food and candy out everywhere you turn!

I wish you the best and hope that we can keep in touch.

Hi all! So glad to have found this group.

March 25th is my surgery date and I'm excited, nervous, and scared all rolled into one! I've been researching WLS since last February, and started my 6 month supervised weight loss related visits at the end of June. A series of unfortunate events caused my date to be pushed back from the end of January to the end of March. But now it's only 18 days away and I feel ready.

BTW, I have Cigna insurance, and they approved my surgery within five days!

Cindy, I think you stole my spot on 3/16 with Dr. Macik. ;)

Kidding of course, but I've been waiting a while to get scheduled, and there was a little miscommunication about when I could book a date, and in that time, I got pushed back to 3/25 at John's Creek.

I didn't see anything about the liquid diet the day prior on the form that I received, but I'm glad I read your post, because I will double check with them. Today I started the low carb diet, just to give myself a few extra days to get used to it. I figured in case I didn't do follow it perfectly at least I had a few days' wiggle room.

Sure enough, I'm at 34 grams of carbs now (beans and greek yogurt were the two biggest contributors).

Best of luck to you, I can't wait to hear about your experience!
