Welcome to the loser's bench!
Wow, you lost 25 pounds from a pre op diet? That's great. With my diet I only lost 3 pounds, but every diet is different. My Dr. was more focused on shrinking the liver rather than losing weight.
I am jealous of your post op diet though! I am on clear liquids with some skim milk and added protein foe the first 3 weeks. I hate having to wait so long for pureed food.
Don't let the water weight bother you. It's just from the IV fluid and you will lose it quickly now!
Congrats on a successful surgery! I'm looking forward to reading more on your progress!

Topic: RE: How are all our post-op March Sleevers??
Well I am Post Op day 11. I can't believe it has already been 11 days since my surgery! I am still having some pain off and on across the middle of my stomach where there is a line of incisions. It hurts to bend over so I try not too. I also have a hard time sleeping because of the discomfort in my tummy. But overall I think I am recovering well, considering everthing I had done during the past week and a half.
Let's see, I had VSG and my gall bladder removed, 3 root canals with crowns, 2 dental implants, and gum surgery. I had so much dental work done, my cheeks are still swollen and hurt.
Since March 3rd, I have lost 8 pounds. To be honest, I was expecting more because of my size. But I think that all the "work" I had done has slowed my lose a bit this first 2 weeks. I also felt like the broths I was eating in Tijuana were very salty, which could also be a problem.
I still don't feel physically hungry but the smell of foods makes me think I am hungry. However, just the thought of eating that food and what it would do to my tummy at this stage scares me enough to not want it.
I know I'm not getting enough water or protein. Yesterday I probably had the most "food" since surgery. I had:
1/2 a bottle of Muscle Milk
1/4 cup gelatin
12 oz Gatorade
3 cups water
My Dh has a Dr. appt with our PCP on Tuesday but my appt isn't until the 31st. I may try to get our dr to squeeze me in on Tuesday so I can talk to him about everything and get an appt with a nutritionist. I think seeing a nutritionist will be very helpful to me.

I'm here! I have just been busy. Wednesday was my last day in Tijuana, Thursday I travelled home, Friday I had to do some work with my DH, and todayI am finally able to rest a bit.
The last few days were exhausting so I didn't do much on the internet. I am trying to catch up on the posts today.
Thanks for asking about me! That's so sweet!

Hey March Sleevers! New here...
I think Im going to call my sleeve surgery date my Rebirthday! I was sleeved on Monday, March 7th.
5 days post-op.
My name is Linda M. and Im from NJ. I returned to my dr. Dr.Nicholas Bertha originally for the Bypass. He knew me and suggested the sleeve. He put in my lapband March 2004 and removed it Feb 2008. I really only decided I needed to do this after several more attempts at Jenny Craig. I looked at my pics from my sons wedding in Aug. for which I lost 22lbs. and said..look how old I look. I will never make it at this rate to stay alive for my grandchildren.. and for myself of course. I was tired of looking at myself in the mirror at Curves hopping up and down...and not losing a thing. BTW I regained the 22lbs.
My kids were totally against it..."Diet and Exercise Mom...Why do you want to mutilate yourself?"
I told them my father had most of his stomach removed in the 50s for his ulcer. And there is stomach and colon cancer in my family.
So, I did this....Had my first trip to CVS and Pathmark today; Weird feeling...also felt like I needed to hold on to the cart. Feel better tonight after I ate.. Sitting here drinking my water...
Wont get on the scale till I see the doc next Wed....I wish all pre and post sleevers the best of luck and God Bless you all! We will get thru this!
