Doesn't look like crap tp me. All of that is on your list correct? At this point I would say just concentrate on getting the fluids in. I am having the same issue. I did rech the NUt finally however, she was not of much help except she did tell me that I should not have more than 4 oz per meal. She told me to go to the website and check the plan there. The new plan on the website does not say anything about sleevers staying on liquid for 3 weeks so I am still not sure. I have an appointment on the 31st so I figure I will just do the liquids and ask then. Rather be safe than sorry plus I think it will help with the losing. Yesterday I had:
6 oz decaf coffee w/ sf creamer
3oz chibani
4 oz veg broth
3 oz chibani
crystal light throughout the day
no sugar added fudgecicle

I had my VSG 6days ago and my limit is about 2tsp every 5-7 minutes.  I cannot even finish 1 ounce of anything without feeling it...Am I missing something?

Way to go Cathi! I took my measurements before surgery but I haven't since. I'm curious now if there are any changes.

I don't own a scale and I wonder if I should get one because I know I would get obsessed with getting on the scale.

1.  I am in full-liquid stage. I am still having a bit of a problem with protein shakes (they don't want to stay down).
2.  What I miss from my former lifestyle is being able to keep food down. I am having problems with certain foods. My worse time of the day is in the morning and sometimes during the night. I can't sleep in my bed because I vomit sometimes without warning. It really is not pleasant.
3.  Right now I am not enjoying my new lifestyle. I am still working out the kinks. But I know this will all pass and I will enjoy my new life.
4.  The biggest surprise I have experienced is the support from my family. I never told them before hand about my surgery and they have been so great.

Curious, what is the sugar and carb count on the Chobani?

My plan is to eat plain, full fat greek yogurt and add a bit of fresh fruit and nuts (when I can tolerate them). That has always tasted very sweet to me, and of course it's very filling.

I love to cook, and prefer whole foods as much as possible, so I made stock last weekend using the carcasses of the last three chickens we had. I'm looking forward to having some tomorrow for my liquid day before surgery. Post-surgery, I plan to puree some chicken into it to get more protein in.

I'm pre-op, and having surgery on Friday at 9:30. I've been on a low/no carb diet since Monday, 3/8. Starting that far out was my choice, I didn't have to start until Fri, 3/11.

Tomorrow I'll do a day of liquids and the lovely bowel prep...can't wait for my Miralax Gatorade ****tail chased down with Dulcolax!

There haven't been too many surprises yet, but I'm really looking forward to waking up in recovery and getting up and moving Friday afternoon. I'm just so excited and hopeful about my new beginning.

1. Liquid for me (another 2 weeks to go)
2. Just life in general and not being sore...keep in mind, I am still out of work, the weather is crappy and I'm just bored!
3. Not being starving all the time!
4. The fact that things aren't 1/4 as bad as I thought they'd be.  I expected the liquids to be worse, pain to be much worse, just the whole experience to be worse than it has been so I'm pretty pleased about all that!

But, you know what, I'm not going to feel that horrible about it because I really haven't eaten much at all since surgery and have been having a hard time getting my protein, cals and liquids in.  And, from what I can tell, in order for my scale to start moving, I need to start getting in more cals and mixing things up a bit.

Today, I ate:
6oz cream of wheat
3/4 cup skim lactaid
12oz healthy request tomato soup (made with 2% lactaid)
1 cup of hot tea
7oz Premier Protein chocolate shake
2 4oz Luigi's sugar free italian ices

How did you do today??

Topic: Question of the Week 3/21/11

By now most of us have either had surgery or are in the pre op phase of surgery. Share with everyone the following information:

1. What "phase" you are in? (pre op, liquid, mushy, soft food, etc...)
2. What do you miss the most about your former lifestyle?
3. What do you enjoy the most about your new lifestyle?
4. Is there anything that has surprised you about your journey so far?
