1. Currently in the mushy phase
2. I miss going out to eat and having a really nice meal
3. I'm loving the fact that I'm not totally focused on food all the time
4. I'm surprised that I have absolutely NO appetite!  I have to make myself eat!

Topic: RE: A delicate problem,
For me, I had a bowel movement the morning after surgery. It was weird since I hadn't had anything to eat for 3 days.

TMI warning: For the whole next week after that, I had really fatty diarrhea. Then normal (but small) bowel movement once a day. Now I'm back to the fatty diarrhea. I had/have IBS, so pre-surgery I used to have 6-10 bowel movements per day. It's kinda weird to only have 1 every day/every other day now.

The thing is...you're not really putting enough food in your body to create a lot of waste. So unless you actually feel pressure like you need to go, but can't, then you're not really constipated. You just haven't created enough poop yet!

Tracy,

I'm not sure if I ever really thought about it...but milk does have a slightly sweet taste without being sugar-y. Perhaps that's what's doing the trick.

I don't know what the problem is with water...it's not like the water tastes any different now than before surgery. It's just not satisfying AT ALL. I really do have to kinda force myself to drink it. And crystal light doesn't seem to be making it any better.

I did get some Diet V8 Splash Berry Blend the other day...total YUM! It's only got 10 calories per 8 oz (and just 3 carbs if you're counting those). Plus, it's got plenty of vitamins. Total yummy goodnesss. I've been having 1-2 glasses of that per day.

I've also learned to pour a smaller glass. I used to drink out of huge cups, but now I drink so slowly that the ice melts and the drink gets room temp before I get halfway through it. So now I use small juice glasses for everything.

Yeah, I don't own a scale because I know I'd be on it several times a day obsessing. I may end up buying one later, but for now, I'm just going to get weighed at my doctor visits.

1. Solid food (with the exception of beef unless ground and no raw veggies/fruits except bananas)

2. The only thing I've found that I miss is being able to eat more of something when it tastes really good.

3. The only thing I miss is also one of the things I'm really grateful for. I used to eat and eat, not because I was hungry, but because I just LOVE the taste of food. I was a junkie, and this surgery has been my rehab.

4. I am seriously surprised at how not-hungry I am. I know I read a lot of people saying that before, but I don't think the reality of it hit me until I realized that I can actually feel when my stomach is completely empty, but I don't have that panicked "OH-MY-GOD-I-NEED-TO-EAT-RIGHT-THIS-MOMENT" feeling. I used to get headaches when I didn't eat regularly, and that hasn't been a problem either.

I'm also surprised at how hard it is to get all my liquids in each day. I used to drink 64-80 oz of water per day, at least. I always had something to drink with me, and I drank water 99% of the time. Now I find that I dread having to sip, sip, sip. I get so tired of sipping. And water is completely unappetizing to me now. Go figure.

That sounds good to me. I am always looking for something new to try or a good recipe to try.

But, you know what, I'm not going to feel that horrible about it because I really haven't eaten much at all since surgery and have been having a hard time getting my protein, cals and liquids in.  And, from what I can tell, in order for my scale to start moving, I need to start getting in more cals and mixing things up a bit.

Today, I ate:
6oz cream of wheat
3/4 cup skim lactaid
12oz healthy request tomato soup (made with 2% lactaid)
1 cup of hot tea
7oz Premier Protein chocolate shake
2 4oz Luigi's sugar free italian ices

How did you do today??
Hmmm....I guess you're right - not completely crap!  Thanks to both of you!  This gives me more ideas....we should do these posts more often!

1. well they do it differently over here so I have been eating mushies since day 2.  it's ok just got to remember to eat really slowly and make sure that it is mushy enough.  lots of gravy.
2. I miss nothing yet about my old lifestyle. especially the pre op plan
3. I like not being a slave to food. as l am never hungry.
4. That I could be satisfied with such a small amount of food as I found the pre op a bit restrictive.
Loving my sleeve and loving life, Loving the weight loss and feeling healthier even though I have so much further to go.  I love the fact that I will NEVER be that big again and to be honest I have Never been able to say that before wiht any diet I have been on.  To say this is the best decision I have ever made is an underestimate of the greatest proportions

1. Liquid
2. Nothing has really changed except the food that I eat.
3. The thing I enjoy the most about my new lifestyle would probably have to be the feeliing of losing as I am and knowing it is not going to be back in a few weeks.
4. The surgery and recovery have been easier than expected.
