Topic: Vomiting = ouchie!
I vomitted pretty hard yesterday, and today I woke up and the muscles in my abdomen are KILLING me. It feels like I did 1000 sit ups. This is the first time I've vomitted since right after surgery. Anyone else experience anything like this?
Topic: RE: Unflavored Protein + Milk = Winner
Cathi, I have to agree with you on the whole protein shake thing. I am sooooo over them, but they are still a necessary evil. I have a whole new tub of the unflavored protein that I use with 1% chocolate milk. I haven't tried it with just plain "white" milk, which I love all by itself. I couple of days at work this week, that's what I had for breakfast. Some ice cold skim milk totally filled me up.

Topic: RE: Introductions
Hello,
My name is Amanda and I just had the sleeve on march 24th. I have always been overweight, I am married with two boys ages 2 and 4. i am feeling a little better today but had to stay in hospital an extra night due to nausea and discomfort. It sort of feels like heartburn and a feeling of fullness, has anyone else experienced this? I am looking forward to getting home today and know I will feel alot better soon. I am excited about my new weight loss journey!

Topic: RE: Introductions
Hi all...not really a "late arrival" here, but by the time I read the main forum board posts and chat with a couple friends, haven't had much time to explore my group! So sorry about that!
My name is Vivian (my friends call me Viv) and I have been married to the same guy, Mike, for 38 years (39 in June of this year). I have 3 grown kids (2 sons & 1 daughter) and 6 grandsons (4 by blood, 2 by choice). We have 3 lab retrievers and a cat living at home now.
Me, in a nutshell: I didn't always have a weight problem. I was normal sized through school. When I got married, I was 5 ft 7 in and weighed 155. I have large bone structure, and didn't look bad, with or without clothes-meaning could wear a bathing suit, not my "nuthin's"! Then birth control pills added a few extra pounds, and 3 pregnancies added some too. When I started my current job, I was still well inside "Onederland"...then my body began to have issues. The most painful problem, a condition called polymyalgia rheumatica (pmr for short), required steroid treatment that lasted about 10 years...which took me straight out of "Onderland" and dumped me at close to 280 (for the past 6 years I have taken Methotrexate in oral & injectible form, which will resume in about a month, thank goodness, because my pain levels fluctuate alot and are on the high side right now). I read about WLS for YEARS before I got brave enough to actually talk about it openly. I have known a few people who have had the RNY, and now know someone who had the band, but no one who has been sleeved.
Like others with weight problems, I am scared to death to be in pictures because I don't like the way I look. I am great at hiding behind the dogs, the kids, etc! I also am uncomfortable with groups of people I don't know, and it takes me awhile to warm up in a group setting, but I do.
Anyway, a hearty congratulations to those of you who have already been sleeved. I know I have responded to several posts by people here...I am excited to know my date is just around the corner, so please save me a seat on the March Losers' Bench...thanks! Viv

Topic: RE: Question of the Week 3/21/11
1. Currently pre-op; tomorrow (Saturday) I begin clear fluids & protein drinks for the next 2 days; on Sunday it's the clear fluids accompanied by the prep for surgery on Monday.
2. I don't think there's anything I miss yet...in a few days, I am sure there will be SOMETHING!
3. I have been making subtle changes to the amount I eat at meals, so that now I do eat less. I sleep better, so at this point better sleep is what I am enjoying most.
4. I'm surprised that it has taken so long (mostly due to waiting for ins approval), and that I have had the patience to hang on and wait...that has strengthened my conviction that this is the right surgery for me, and I am willing to wait for everything to come together. Can't wait!!!
