Topic: RE: Vomiting = ouchie!
I didn't experience any vomiting right after surgery but once I started on mushies I have vomited a couple of times. I haven't been able to figure out if it's the food itself or if I ate too much or too quickly. I think it is from a combination of eating too quickly, which caused me to overeat.
Hope you're feeling better now!

Hello Amanda,
Welcome to the group! I know a lot of people struggle with the nausea after surgery. Luckily I am not one of them. I hope you start feeling better soon! It only gets better now!

I was also worried about the long term results because this is cosidered a new procedure. What put my mind at ease is that the procedure is really only new in the fact that it is being done as a solo procedure. If I remember correctly, this procedure has been done as a partial procedure for DS for a longer time span.
The reason there are limited studies and longterm results for the VSG is because they cannot use data from the DS. Knowing that the VSG has been around longer than I first realized made a big difference for me and put my mind at ease.
Try to do more research both on the VSG alone and the VSG part of a DS, you should find that it's not as "new" as you think. I think I read that the first recorded DS was in 1986.
Just do enough research on it until you are comfortable with making a good decision for yourself.

Congrats Cathi!!! That's so wonderful for you! Isn't this surgery an amazing gift? didn't take my measurements before or immediately following surgery. I just have to go by how my clothes are fitting(big) right now.

Holy crap! I measured myself today, and I'm so freaking happy with these numbers, I can barely contain myself!!
bicep - 18 (-3)
neck - 17 (-2)
waist - 60 (-3)
hips - 67 (-3)
thigh - 29 (-5)
calf - 21 (-9)
Total inches lost = 25
And that's in just 3 weeks! Woohoo!!!!!!!
