Topic: What are yopur post-op struggles and how are you dealing?
Hi all,

Just thought I'd throw this out there and see what other post-ops have been struggling with...if anything!

For me, water (beverages of any sort) have been a huge struggle for me.  Other than the liquids I was "eating" (soups, popsicles, etc), I've had no interest in drinking beverages...especially water.  I've been trying so hard the past two days to turn that around and I'm hoping I'll be able to!  Any tips from anyone as to how you've been meeting your liquid/water goals?

In addition to my liquid struggle...protein has been a pain for me as well.  I have had NO interest in protein shakes since surgery and have tried to get my protein in from other sources but I have realized that I'm not getting nearly enough in.  It's crazy when I think about it because I actually LOVED them before surgery but can't even stomach the thought of them now.  I need to change this!  Any tips here?

I know this issues have slowed my progress...I have a follow up with my surgeon next week so I need to start working on things now!

Anyone else what to share their struggles or any tips for success??

Thanks!

Topic: Question of the Week 3/28/11
1. Before your surgery, did you exercise on a regular basis? If yes, how often?

2. Are you currently exercising on a regular basis?  If yes, how often?

3. If you're not currently exercising, do you plan on starting an exercise routine? If so, how long after surgery do you plan on starting it?

I am really loving my sleeve
I weighed myself this morning and I am under 300lb for the first time in years.  I am feeling wonderful my husband keeps calling me a slim sooz and is so proud of me
Just about realising that this is the best thing that I have done for myself ever.
It may have cost a fortune (I am self funded) but it was worth every penny to feel this good.
Hope that you are all feeling the same

Topic: RE: Question of the Week 3/21/11
 1. What "phase" you are in? (pre op, liquid, mushy, soft food, etc...)
I am almost 2 weeks post-op so I am in the liquid phase!

2. What do you miss the most about your former lifestyle?
I miss the ability to eat whatever I want.  But at the same time it was this freedom that got me to where I was.

3. What do you enjoy the most about your new lifestyle?
Losing weight easily and seeing the results

4. Is there anything that has surprised you about your journey so far?

I am surprised how easy it was to avoid eating. Also, how hard it is to get in all the required liquids.

1. What "phase" you are in? (pre op, liquid, mushy, soft food, etc...)
I am in the "chunky" mushy / solid stage.

2. What do you miss the most about your former lifestyle?
I hate to admit it, but I miss chinese food. I think it's because      everytime I talk to my dad he reminds me that I'll never get to enjoy a chinese buffet again. Although, I don't totally agree with that! I think eventually I will have some reasonable Chinese food. Still, being reminded of it makes me miss it.

3. What do you enjoy the most about your new lifestyle?
     Losing weight easily!

4. Is there anything that has surprised you about your journey so far?

How freaking hard it is to drink the amount of water I am supposed to everyday!
