Hi March VSGer's!! Today is 1 month for me. I have lost a total of 44 lbs.....31 of those since day of surgery. It has not been too bad but at the same time it has not been too easy either for me as far as getting in the liquids. I have been at a stall for over a week and a half and I bet is because of not getting in my liquids.   Pre-op I used to drink 64 to 100 ozs. of liquid a day and since surgery I have yet to hit 64 ozs.   I keep trying every day but just can't seem to get there and I am definitely feeling the effects. My throat has become somewhat sore , my mouth is a bit white, my skin is very dry and it seems my tummy is beginning to have make more acid. I am taking prilosec and have sometimes taken 2 a day depending on how my tummy feels.  I was not getting in enough protein either for awhile there but have since moved to pureed foods and upped my calories to about 500 a day and sometimes have reached 600. So I still have a lot of learning and work to do.

My other issue is my hernia.   With my weight loss my belly has started to hang and the hernia is pulling on my belly causing some discomfort when I walk. My surgeon did not want to repair the hernia so that in the future when I have lost most of my belly fat he can repair the hernia and also remove the excess skin from my belly and have it covered. I hope that does not bite me in the end. I am looking into ordering a binder so that I could get my walking in without pain.  All in all I am happy with my decision and my weight loss and look forward to this stall to be over and continue with the weight loss.  I have lost in inches also and will post some pictures on my profile in the next few days hopefully.    I hope that all new VSGer's are doing well and having a descent and uneventful recovery!!

Well done on your weight loss.  I am only 24lb since surgery so you are doing fabulously well despite your stall.  That will soon be over.
So relate to the lack of water.  I just haven't got the time to drink...Also to eat.  still don't feel hungry and forget to eat.  Crazy that before the op I couldn't understand those who forget to eat...now that someone is me!!!
Don't really have a lot of time for walking as work is manic so I bought a Wii  and do Wii fit.  Lots of step aerobics in the morning before work and a little after.  I can get in about 30 mins most days.
Will look forward to seeing the new you
Well done

Kim....I tried the G2 but I am finding that all the sugar free drinks are just too sweet....and if I water them down it seems like they lose the flavor but get sweeter.  I think I need to just stick with my water with lemon slices and just be more diligent.  As far as the Drs. billing....OMG....I just got an inurance explaination that says they only paid $4700.00 of his $10,000.00 charge which eaves me with $5300.00.   I am waiting to see if he accepts this or send  a bill for the difference.  I hoe not as I was not expecting to pay anything as my other surgeries were paid at 100%.   Oh well........Your doing awesome by the way!!

Oh didi!!  You are doing awesome!!!  Keep up the great work!  I still need to work on my liquids too....I'm still around 32oz and find it hard to get in more than that.  My loss is very slow...still at 16 lbs since surgery.  Bummed about that and I seem to be in another 2 week stall but it is what it is, I guess.  I can also hit 800-900 cals pretty easy.  Hmmm.

Sorry to read about your hernia pain...I hope it's improving for you!

I was having that 3 week stall and over the last week I upped my protein then last couple days I went back down with my total calories not by intention just was not hungry and thinking about food. I think that may have done something because I weighed this morning with a 2 lb loss.  So maybe try decreasing your calorie count for a couple days.  I also think that when your body decides to catch up your going to have major losses. We are all so different. Keep your chin up and let's face it ....your doing great.........16 lbs is nothing to cry about!!!
