Hey everyone!
Thought I would post the question a day early because I might be preoccupied during the next 2 days!

Question: When it comes to your surgery, what do you look forward to the most and what do you fear the most?

Question: When it comes to your surgery, what do you look forward to the most and what do you fear the most?

Well, I really look forward to not being a slave to food anymore. I can't wait to feel satisfied with eating just a small amount of food and not constantly feeling hungry.

I fear the pain after surgery the most. I know a lot of people say they didn't feel much pain or that their pain was managed well, but I will be having surgery in Mexico and have read that my surgeon does not use narcotics to manage pain. As long as that approach works, I am all for it, I just worry that the meds they use may not be strong enough.

I also have that fear that I will be the one with the complications! God I pray I don't, but it is always in the back of my head!

I'm looking forward to seeing what I really look like. I've been fat since I was 6 years old, so I have no idea what I would look like as a thin adult. I'm really looking forward to that discovery. And I'm looking forward to feeling sexy for the first time. I've felt pretty a few times in my life, but I can honestly say that I've never, not once in my 30 years on this earth, felt sexy. That will be a big WOW moment for me.

What am I scared of? I have to say I'm with you on your fear of pain, Tracy. I'm allergic to pain! After that, I'm afraid that I won't be successful at this. I've gained and lost weight so many times, and I really, really want this time to be different.

I'm also a little afraid that I'm going to have gobs of excess skin that I'll have to deal with later. I'm over 400 lbs right now, so I know that chances are pretty high that I'm going to have some loose skin. But I'm trying not to get too ahead of myself. I'll focus on losing the weight first, I guess. LOL

When it comes to your surgery, what do you look forward to the most and what do you fear the most?

Mostly, having been a smoker and not having the mobility that I used to have , I fear getting a blood clot and dying. I also fear having complications. I think I can deal with the pain (hopefully).

I look forward too being able to walk a distance without having to stop because myback and feet don't want to take me there. I look forward to not having all the pain that I have. I look forward regaining my self confidence and rejoining the life I used to have without the food issues and with a healthy routine.
I look forward to clothes shopping and feeling good about how I look! Health will be the biggest reward though!!

Again Tracy, great question.  I'm most looking forward to shopping in "normal-size" clothing stores.  I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE clothes.  Even as a big girl, I have a closet full of clothes.   My greatest fear is not losing as much as I need to lose, and not getting even remotely close to my ultimate goal weight.

Hey Sleeve Sisters/Brothers,
I am most looking forward to getting of my blood pressure and cholesterol meds.  I was hoping the thyroid meds too, but Dr informed me that only dosage would change. Bummer!  I am also looking forward to being socially active again because I have kind of become a recluse since I couldnt seem to keep up with my fit friends and family.  The weight has held me back from things and I just want to get rid of it.  My daughter and I have a date to ride rollercoasters all day just as soon as I can.  I have missed that!  I always loved it.

That being said, my greatest fear is to go through all this and not be successful.

Hey Everyone !!!

I'd first like to say good luck tomorrow Tracy.....You will do great !

The thing I look forward to most is being able to wake up in the morning without that damn CPAP machine on my face....

My greatest fear is that I will not succeed.  I want to be healthy !!!
I'm not afraid of the pain.  I have faith in my surgeon and medicine..
I'm really wondering how you get all that protein in.

My surgery date can not come soon enough!!!!

I wish everyone here success and happiness with their journey... :)
