Hello,     My name is Sharon.I had Open RNY (proximal 40cm) on 6-26-01 with Dr.Sawicki at UCLA. With such a small amount of bypass and a larger than usuall pouch(mine 30cc  now adays 15cc's) I had a real struggle getting the weight off and keeping it off.I lost about 150 pounds over the course of 3 years.I then started gaining weight. I looked into a revision.I found Dr.Quilici who agreed to do my revision. He was going to bypass more intestine and make my pouch smaller. I went in for surgery on 12-05-06.Woke after surgery and learned I had a Lapband placed over my RNY.was I ever surprised. The Dr. said I had an enlarged stoma, intestinal adaptation(my body mended no longer bypassed) I also had an SLD.Kinda explains the 70 pound regain I experienced. So the DR. gave me a lapband without us even discussung that as a method. I am now entering 16 months post op. I have lost about 75plus pounds and am doing well.I am still slowly losing.I'm sure I would do better at losing if I cut out my addiction(chocolate) and rode my bike more.I am a local support group leader and am considering getting OH certified as well. I look forward to learning from others and sharing my experience with those interested. Thanks SharonS
