Topic: RE: tell me about your pre-op diet....
My husband and I started our 2 week liquid diet yesterday (5/29). I am looking forward to getting past this first few days. Yesterday was ok, but I woke up with a headache this morning that has not subsided yet as of about noon... but it will all be worth it and i won't even remember this headache in a few months!

Topic: Today, things move a bit!
oh yeah, today I received the confirmation that my payment had been received by the clinic. The clinic sent me my post op documentation. And I am just waiting for a confirmation on my surgery date, which should be either June 25th or June 26th!
I also received my protein powder (nectar + unflavoured) today.
I should try them, but I have to say that I am very reluctant to do so. I know I have to, but so far I haven't.
I am getting really excited!

I'm Sue, from beautiful West Michigan. 59 years old, married, 4 kids,32-37 yrs old and 7 wonderful grandkids.
I started thinking seriously about surgery 5 yrs. ago when I lost my sister to brain cancer. She was also morbidly obese, but didn't have the drive to make a change. Her size really made it difficult to allow her to help recuperate after surgery to remove the tumor. I swore I wouldn't go through what she had to....and then gained another 50 lbs. What have we done to ourselves?
I have surgery one week from today. Next Saturday I start a liquid diet for just two days. I am still uncertain about the days following the surgery. Things like how to get in the liquids and the protein and wondering if I have what I need in the house when I return from the hospital. I may only have to stay one night, but maybe two depending on nausea.
Looking forward to hearing about everyone's progress and success stories.
