I truly understand your fear! But don't chicken out, we can do this! You can, I can, we all can! We'll support each other!
The fat girl that wouldn't shut up!!!
I started the process of the surgical procedure quite a time ago. 3 years ago, to be more precise. I was on the list in my home town (in Canada it is covered by our health system but you have to wait sometimes 2-3 years before it's your turn). I never got called, and I had to move. So now I am on the list here too, but I am done with waiting so I am going to self pay my surgery.
I was going for the Lap Band too but then changed my mind. So now I am going to have my surgery last week of june. They haven't given me the exact date yet, but it will be last week of june!
The payment to them is on it's way.
I have to do some testing (blood work, chest X-ray, gastrectomy, etc....) and then it will be time.
Now I am looking for an assistant for my daycare, in order to avoid closing. I do not want to lose my customers as they are great parents and kids!
So this is me!
Hi, I am Jedaya, I live in NYC, married two years, no children, and i am a food addict. LOL
I toyed with the idea of weight loss surgery last year but got serious in January of this year. I attended the seminar in January at Sound Shore Medical Center Bariatric Center in New Rochelle, NY. I left that seminar as soon as i got home, i completed the questionnaire and made an appointment to meet the surgeon a week later. Met Dr. Silberstein and we discussed my options, the VSG or the lapband. I wanted to the Lap-Band and we started the paper work. A week after that I saw my primary doctor and suggested that I do the VSG, I really didn’t think my insurance was going to approved it. She told me that she did not see why not. She wrote a recommendation letter and fax all of her notes to Dr. Silberstein. I made an appointment with him and we changed from Lap-Band to VSG.
I started my round of test, collecting my weight loss records from Weigh****chers and my primary doctor for the insurance. They was a little problem with my EKG and Dr. Silberstein send me to a Cardiologist because there was some weird beats of heart. The cardiologist in turned sent me to get a sleep study because he believed I had Sleep Apnea. I turns out that I have a mild Sleep Apnea. Both the Cardiologist and the Sleep specialist also gave me their recommendation that I have the weight loss surgery because he believes that if I lose 10% of my body fat, the Sleep Apnea will go away.
Everything was submitted to the insurance mid April and I got my approval May 4, 2012 and my surgery is scheduled for June 4, 2012.
