June Sleevers
Hey june sleeved, give us some news!!!!
I had my surgery on Tuesday the 12th, and I was discharged Thursday morning. I'm really hurting, and very tired but I still consider myself fortunate with very little nausea so far. Crossing my fingers on that one.
My only issue is that I just cannot get the liquid pain medicine down. It makes me want to vomit every time I put it in my mouth. So I'm trying to push through the pain on my own.. so far its do-able... but we'll see.

Michelle, I hope the pain calms down soon for you. You'll feel so much better once that eases up. If any of it is gas pain, try putting your arms in the air. A nurse suggested this to me and it did help. Can they give you pain tablets? I've been taking pills since the day after surgery and it went fine. I was nervous about how that would go but no problems. Good luck!
Karine,
I have to follow clear liquid diet for two weeks, then two weeks full liquid, then mushies. I think my doctor is super cautious, but that's better than having a leak or vomiting. No pain meds of any kind since the day after surgery, so I really am feeling great. And I have lost 18 lbs. I am having Unjury Chicken Soup for lunch and supper right now and a SF Instant Breakfast in the morning. I'm getting in at least 60 oz. of water at day. I really panicked yesterday when I realized I didn't pack anything for lunch at work. I packed my protein drink, breakfast drink and some jello, but forgot my soup. I went to the store on my lunch break and bought milk, instant dry milk, instant breakfast and orange flavoring and made a orange flavored shake. It was great!

I got sleeved on Tues. 6/12. Came home Thur. 6/14. The extra day in the hospital did wonders for me. They also repaired a hernia on my belly button from probably gallbladder surgery. They only did one incision across my belly button and put all instruments through there. Day after surgery was rough but I think it was mainly due to the gas settling in my chest area. I walked and walked but it just wouldn't leave. No pain meds since leaving hospital. A little sorer today than yesterday because I rolled around alot in bed last night due to probably too long of a nap. No nap today. Ran a couple errands with my dad. Sitting outside most of today enjoying the beautiful NC weather we're having. Never had time (or took the time) to do this before. 2 oz. protein at top of hour and hydrating liquid on the other :15 minutes. Really no hunger except when I first wake up since I stay in bed a long time but after having my 2 oz of water or protein, stomach is fine. Feel more bloated today but wonder if that's because I'm sorer. So far so good! Took a shower today and that felt great. It sounds like everyone so far is doing pretty well. Hope we continue that! Good luck to those June sleevers yet to go. It can be rough the day of and after but take the pain meds and nausea meds definitely while in hospital. They can knock you out but the rest is very helpful!
