June Sleevers
Hey june sleeved, give us some news!!!!
I had mine done on the 6th. I feel wonderful, but hungry. I can't wait to start to have full liquids next week. And then mushies. It has been a great experience so far. Take your pain and gas meds in the hospital and try to sleep when you can. I stayed two nights and I'm really glad I did. I went back to work this past Monday. I am taking a little nap in my car on my lunch break most days, more to get out of the office than from fatigue. Good luck to you!

I was revised from lapband to sleeve on Monday the 12th. Came home on Tuesday. Doing ok at home just trying to alk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip!!!!! Pain is a little more than I expected, but my band was stuck to my liver with lots of scar tissue. The dr. said that is why I had this amount of pain. Good luck to you all coming up. praying for a quick recovery!!!
No I don't mind you asking at all. I did ok with weight loss after my band. I lost 60lbs the first year. The second year my reflux just went crazy, no meds worked and it got so bad I was getting pneumonia from reflux getting my lungs. My doctor did not think it was my band and argued with me, but humored me by taking all the water out and I rested for 6 months. I had no infections during this time. Then after 6 months he filled it just a little and I was sick again. So I told him to take all the water out and leave it out. I got very depressed and frustrated and gained all my weight back within the 3rd year. The day of my sleeve I weighed the same as the day of my lap band :-( I guess during my resting phase for a year a lot more data came out, because when I saw my new surgeon that did my sleeve he said that was a very common problem, He took one look at my swallow study and said it was definitely my band causing the problem. He said even with no water in it I was still refluxing, which I could tell because I always had heartburn. In the past year I have had elevated liver enzymes and pain where my galbladder would be, but my gallbladder had already been removed so my primary chalked it up to scar tissue and a fatty liver due to my obesity. Little did we know the problem was that my band had connected itself to my liver with scar tissue that was causing my discomfort. The lap band may be ok for others, but I was so glad to see mine gone!!!!!! Sorry this is so lenghy, lol.
