Got my gastroscopy consult yesterday.

Got a call today for the actual gastroscopy on may 26th (yes a saturday, can you imagine??? )

Interviewing for my replacement

Told my customers and they are supportive and trust me to find  a good replacement!  Even offered to help my family if anything is needed!

But all this is telling me that the day is closer.  I am trying to be good with my food, but not doing great.  So wish he would put me on optifast!

I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared!

But I HAVE to do this!  I WANT to do this!  Will I succeed?  That is what scares me?  Will it really help me?  Or will I end up doing this for nothing?  Oh my I am scared!

Sorry!  I had to let it out somewhere!

Please tell me it will work, tell me you are scared too?

Yes, I'm sure I will be scared the closer it gets.  Right now it still doesn't seem real.  I have my preop next week (it is a whole day long, same for anyone else?) and I have a feeling after it I will begin to start feeling nervous.  I do keep questioning if I am doing the right thing. I know it is the only way I'm ever going to lose and even if I don't lose all that I see everyone else doing I will still lose enough to make a big difference in my life.
YOU can do this.  It is a new beginning and YOU DESERVE IT!  Hang in there and let me know all about it so I can stop worrying.  LOL  God Bless.

My bad, I see your VSG is actually after mine.  Guess I'll have to feel you in.  Haven't heard of the gastroscopy (so I looked it up).

Yeah YOU will have to feel me in!  hahaha!  Good for me!  Find someone to feel you in too!

As per the gastrectomy, it is required here, prior to a stoach surgery, in order to avoid "surprises" during surgery!

I am so scared too!  Hopefully its normal to feel this way.  I read about people *****gret having the surgery and I'm trying to figure out if it's the minority.  My biggest fear is regret because there is nothing you can do.  I also fear pain, not being able to drink enough water or get enough protien.

Where do you read about that?  I cannot find anybody who had regrets after the slleve.  Really interested in seeing the "other side"

Hi Karine,

I'm tentatively scheduled for a VSG to DS revision with Dr. Gagner on June 25th, as well, so maybe we'll meet!

I had the sleeve in December of last year and must confess that I haven't lost any weight since then. However, that may well be due to the fact that I've had restrictive-only procedures before (lap-band), so my metabolism is already ratcheted way down. I am someone *****ally needs the malapsorptive component because my body just seems to require very few calories to function. If this is your first bariatric surgery, you'll probably do great.

Are you having it done at Westmount Square?

DS: 2011 (Dr. Michel Gagner) SW: 240
VSG: 2012 (Dr. Michel Gagner) SW: 256
Lap-band: 2006 (SW: 226) , 2011 (SW: 236) (Dr. Christopher Cobourn)

Why do you say "tentatively"???

I am scheduled at a Westmount clinic yes!  Maybe we'll see each other.  They didn't give me the time, they said they would call a week prior for the admission time.  But the date is the 25th for sure.

As per the sleeve VS de ds, I have no clue how my body will react, but for sure I want to try with a restrictive suregry prior to trying the malabsorptive one.  So we'll see in a year from now how my body reacts to this!

It's a tentative date because I have't decided to commit yet; I have a couple of questions for Dr. Gagner but I haven't heard back yet. Are you staying at a convalescent facility after being discharged from Westmount Square?
DS: 2011 (Dr. Michel Gagner) SW: 240
VSG: 2012 (Dr. Michel Gagner) SW: 256
Lap-band: 2006 (SW: 226) , 2011 (SW: 236) (Dr. Christopher Cobourn)

I am staying one night at the clinic, and have to stay a day or two in a hotel near the clinic before heading home.

Dr Gagner is somewhere climbing some mountain (sorry don't remember which one or even where!!!) and he is not back home yet, which is probably why you haven't heard from him yet.
