We are having some fairly serious trouble with our insurance company. I thought if this was an issue for us, it might be an issue for others. My husband and I have both had WLS I in 1998 and he in February 2010.. I didn't have any problems with my insurance company, but my husband is. Basically, he had his surgery which will soon be 3 years ago. He had no problems in that time period. He has had a hernia fixed, and soem vericose vein surgery but all minor issue. In May f this year he developed a bowel obstruction. He had to have surgery and they found the colon kinked. They fixed it and he went on his merry way. The insurance company is now claiming that the bowel instruction, the vein surgery, the hernia, and every thing that he has had done since them is related to the WLS. So far they have demaned more than ,000 be repaid to them. Also, we are careful about getting provedures pre-approved. Any similar instances?
