Friend of Germany
I was nervous going into surgery. I had a lot of family support and that helped. Mi knew I was doing the right thing so there was no turning back. My surgery was delayed by about 4 hours so the waiting was tough.
I remained I the hospital foe three days. I had had other surgeries in the past but when I woke up from this, I didn't even feel like I had had surgery. There was a little discomfort but not pain. I was groggy but not nauseas.
I started walking the second day. Walking helped me recover quickly. The hardest part for me was taking in water. I couldn't take in more than a medicine cup full at a time. Please, let me know if you have any other questions. Say hello to Frankfurt for me. Some of my best memories are of the Hauptbahnhoff.

Dear Aquapeach,
You will have a very successful surgery and weight loss experience. Of that, I am confident. The best way to pick up the German language, is exposure. Read it, listen to it. There are a lot more books on a Kindergarten level with matching CDs that you can play on your iPod or in the car and practice with. I enjoy the Christian Teilman Max and Pauline series. The Connie series is good as well, but the shrill girl's voices sometimes interfere with word-discrimination.
After surgery, remember that the key to future success is paying attention to how yioiu feel whenyou eat certain foods. Although you have a smaller stomach, it is your stomach and still able to tolerate what you were used to eating, just not the volumn. Be very aware of how much you eat up till you feel full. That should be all that you ever eat at a time 4-6 oz of foods and no more than 15 grams of sugar/carbs. I try and stick with protein, vegetables, and fruits. If I want cookies or crackers, I buy Gluten Free at a health food concern. Get used to sugar-free jello, sugar-free ice pops, sugar free canned fruit with cottage cheese or cream cheese, and Skinny Water if they have it over there.
Let me know if these tips are helpful. Take care,
Tschuss!
