This group is led by a Gastric Bypass patient who has received support group leader certification by ObesityHelp.com. Marianne is from Upstate NY and when she moved to the Hudson area, found there were no support groups close by so she decided to get certified and start her own group. The goal of this discussion group is to share experiences and ideas surrounding the issues of obesity and WLS. We provide support, advice and share our struggles and successes. Topics shared relate to the surgery itself, getting past the first few months post-op, managing our pouches, protein shakes, food and diet, developing new eating habits, recipes, nutrition, supplements and vitamins, dealing with cravings, emotional issues, fear of weight gain, keeping the weight off, caring for ourselves, exercise, insurance issues, group activities, and much more.
