Hey Kate - It's been a while since I have seen you.  It sounds like you got the gastronomic tour of Boston.  Living here does have its challenges!!

Hi, Kate from England here! Not all that many wls Brits so i avhe been gate-crashing OH for over 4 years.

Banded 4 1/2 years,  lost all my excess weight in about 15 months, got too thin (!!!!) and deliberately regained 7lbs.  Maintained for over 2 1/2, lost some control. Now getting back to the right weight. Hard work!

Visit to Boston and New England in general started my gain! That clam chowder, Faneuil Hall stalls, buttered lobster, cream fudge! Boston bandsters even took me to The Cheesecake Factory. How on earth do you lose weight over there??

Kate

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

By weighing every morning. I set my "comfort zone" of 145-148 and then if I went out of that I immediately went back to true healthy band eating. As always at the start of any diet, I always lost about 5lbs in a week -a dn so back to my zone.

This worked for 2 1/2 years - not worrying for about 4 or 5 weeks, dieting the 6th (roughly). Then lots of family events and long holidays happened and I stopped doing that  6th week! Result - 27lbs gain (not helped by a leak!).

I am now fighting to get it off again. When i get back to my zone, I will take care NOT to let this happen again! About 11 lbs to go! Lesson (I hope) learned!

Hi Gals,

I'm Pam. Had RNY on 12-10-07. I didn't have any problems, thank goodness.

I get on the scale every morning to keep myself in check. I'm up a little right now so I'm cutting back on carbs and writing everything down.

Funny thing, went on a cruise 3 week back and lost 5 lbs. Guess I got stupid cuz now I'm up 7lbs. Go figure!

Anyway, wanted to introduce myself and look forward to hear from others in the same boat.

Hi Lauren and Rose,

I'm Edie, I had RNY 11-07, my 3 year anniversary is right around the corner.  I started at 317, surgery weight 302, lowest 189 (for about a minute), and I'm currently at 215 and I hate that I'm not in onederland anymore, so that's my first goal, back to onederland, where I plan on staying!

I live in the Detroit area, married with no kids, but 2 adorable puppies we rescued in May.

Thanks for starting this group, I'm really looking forward to talking to people who are further out.  I'm starting to get some weird labs that I don't think you get or hear about until your a few years out, so it will be nice to talk to others who have been down this path.

Have a great day all,

Edie

Thanks Rose

I'm Lauren and had my RNY in March of 09. I'm 5'3 and my highest wt was 290 and surgery wt was 285 and since have lost 140 Pnds.... My biggest fear is regain. I hope it's a healthy fear but one nonetheless.

My ass is now in a size 6/8 and I feel wonderful. I want to learn and share with others successes and help those who want those successes too.

I'm married with no kids and own my own travel agency.....It's a fun biz but challenging

I thought perhaps we could introduce ourselves..

I am Rose. I was banded in 2006 got down to goal but had esophageal problems and had to have all the fill taken out of the band, gained back a lot of my weight and then was revised to a bypass in September of 2008. I once again lost all of my weight and more and have been happily maintaining ever since. I had some issues with iron but got infusions and my most recent labs were great.

Oh, I live in the Boston area, am married, have a couple of kids and am recently unemployed but doing lots of cool volunteer work. I am actively looking though.

And you?
