Brenda B from Canada and I both want to know (thread on maintaining) ... RNYers, what does RH stand for? H2 used it!

really horrible, rolling hiccups, rotten heartburn, retching horribly.....?

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Reactive Hypoglycemia. I think. From what I have picked up from the boards, some post RnY'ers get this a couple of years post op. Their blood sugar drops really fast and they need to keep their levels pretty stable so they eat more frequently. I am sure there is much more to it though...

See, that's why i like a general board. When we are new, all we really care about is our own surgery type. Then we get used to ours and become interested in wls altogether. My wls was the right one for me but i am really genuinely interested in how other wls works for other people.

We are all in this together, just using different tools.

She's correct, it's reactive hypoglycemia, pretty nasty from what I understand, hope I never get it.

I've had it for about 6 months. I can get shaky,hot,nauseated, rapid heart rate. The "cure" for me is to eat small meals frequently with some protein. It feels really bad and I wish I hadn't developed it.

I certainly hope I don,t develope this complication....but if I do it is good to know that you can manage it with behavior mod.
