Topic: Ideas for our March anniversary meeting?
Our March 17th meeting marks our 11th anniversary as a support group.  How should we celebrate during our time together?  Post suggestions here.  Anything you can bring?

Thanks!

Topic: RE: Our Gratitude Journal for 2011: what are you grateful for...
Hi Kimberlee. I really enjoyed the support group meeting today. It made me feel so much better knowing that everything is going to be ok.

Here are somethings I am grateful for

1. My mom and my son. Who have been by my side every step of the way.
2. Having a job.
3. This support group.

One of the most amazing things for our well-being is to pause and realize all the big and small things in our life to be thankful for.  It's soooooo darn easy to only see the negative but I bet there's a lot of positive around too.

List three things you are grateful for that happened this year.

Hey gang, you know my year totally sucked with one health issue or family pain after another but I am grateful for:

1. My husband and daughter who tell me every day that they love me.
2. Preschool.  Seeing how much my daughter enjoys it and is thriving even more is just precious.
3. I am maintaining in that I don't weigh more now than I did in 2010.  phew.

your turn...

Topic: RE: Snacks
Keeping a low carb protein bar that you like (I like PowerCrunch) is a great idea.  You can't go wrong with always having hard boiled eggs in the fridge.  Soy products, like soy nuts and cheese, also work.  Keeping those soy nuts or any kind of a small serving of nuts in your purse can be helpful.  Best to follow the recommendations of your doctor too since you are only 6 weeks out.  That weak feeling could also be dehydration and it's time to sip more, not necessarily that it's time to eat more.  It's super easy to mix the two up.

Topic: Anyone still here???
I'm new to this group and I haven't seen anyone post anything new. I would like to meet people in my area that have had RNY surgery. If anyone is out there please email me at [email protected].

Also, I found out today that I'm lactose intolerant so cheese and yogurt are out of the question right now.

Topic: Snacks
Hello, I'm 6 weeks post op and was wondering if anyone can recommend any snacks to eat between meals. I was at the store today and started getting the "pass out" feeling. Please can anybody give me some ideas. Thank you
