Topic: RE: September meeting topics?
Yes, at one point here I am the same way. I thought I didnt have to watch what I ate or excersize. I am thin now. Thin people dont have to do that stuff. Well I have plateaued. I think i will bring this up at the Nov. meeting.

Thanksgiving is not a problem for me. I know what to eat and how much. Plus it's about family and visiting for me now.
One topic I'd like to talk about is for pre-ops, on their behalf. How can they prepare for their surgery? What should they be practicing? How can they mentally prepare? What should they stock up on now? How can they rally a good support sytem for right after surgery? What can they expect the first week after they leave the hospital?

I just had my one year anniversary doctor appointment. I told him that I don't have a regular schedule. His instant reaction was for me to GET BACK ON ONE!!!
In general, I get in my protein, get in my water, get in my vitamins, get in my excersize. I do not drink with my meals, I do not graze, I do not drink alcohol, I watch my fat and sugar.
I am very happy with my results and encourage anyone interested to find out more.

Topic: Weekly Question: What made you have Weight Loss Surgery?
Now before you post, really think about this. I am asking this question for a reason. We all were in some form of denial when we were fat. It took something for us to decide on this life changing surgery. What was it for you?
For me, it was waking everyday dreading being alive. I was stuck in a body that wasn't mine. Sure it 'belonged' to me, but it wasn't the body I had wanted to be mine. For about 3 years i had researched WLS, and never did anything about my habits to change, so I got fatter while at the same time looking into weight loss. I had to stop it somehow. So I did.

Topic: attn guys: would you chat room?
Over the years, I have heard from our male members that they do not speak up in group as often as they would like since "we women dominate the conversation." Being mindful that men can have specific needs and issues separate from women on this journey, I am wondering if you guys in our group would be interested in scheduling regular Chat Room sessions just for you? No women allowed!
Let me know if this is of interest and if there are certain days and times that work for you.

I would like to say that for me, to keep the weight from creeping back, I exercise everyday, morning and some nights. I cannot believe that I actually love exercising now. I do watch what I eat everyday. My snacks are now vegetables & fruits rather than a kitkat bar or something that I was used to eating before surgery. I love the way I look and most definitely the way I feel. I love the attention I get from my husband and almost everyday, my four year old daugther would tell me how she likes to see mommy thin and not fat. That to me is very inspiring. I am in the best shape of mylife and I hope everyone feels the same as I do.

Hey Gang,
Let's inspire each other. Post a reply here about what you do to stay successful and keep the weight from creeping back. Do you faithfully take your vitamins, regularly exercise, avoid sugar, be nice to yourself, etc. Stuff you do when you are on-track, big time. =)
