I had a VSG in September of 2007 at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City. My surgeon's name is John Feng. I got a Lower Body Lift 6 weeks ago with Dr. Kaufman in Folsom California. I have lost around 115 pounds. My highest weight was 350. I now weigh around 165. I have been married to a wonderful man for almost 12 years. I have a two year old son, and a 6 year old son. My 6 year old has Austism, so my schedule is pretty full. I spend most of my free time swimming laps. I also enjoy bike riding and I hope someday to complete a triathalon. I am having a lot of issues with wanting to eat too much of the wrong things. I am hoping everyone can help me with this. I always feel inspired after meeting with all of you and want to get back on track.

The best way to do a triathlon is to sign up for one. Then you have a deadline.

I signed up for one in Dec. and it's almost here! I'm a little nervous but I think I'll be okay.

That's good advice. Right now I am recovering from a lower body lift and I feel like my abs are going to hurt forever. I have started swimming laps, but I haven't tried running or biking yet. Where is the triathalon that you signed up for already? Good luck.

It's the ICE Breaker Tri at Granite Bay/Folsom Lake.

I'm doing another one in June. It's called the Mermaid Tri and it's in Fremont (my backyard) but it's shorter than a typical Sprint tri. It's 400 m swim (instead of 800 m), 11 mi bike (instead of 13) and 2.5 mi run (instead of 3.1). Plus it's all women and it's very relaxed. So it's a good one to start with.

Here's the web site:

I kind of wish I'd picked this one as my first one. My first one has a 4 mile run so it's going to be a bit of a stretch for me!

I love Folsom. I got my plastic surgery with Dr. Kaufman. You inspired me to start running. I haven't ran for 10 years. I do swim everyday and bike. I didn't do great, but I didn't do as badly as I thought I was going to do. After I was done, I took a long bubble bath, and after that my husband and I loaded up our two year old on the back of my bike and we all rode to dinner. I have to admit I am sore, but I will swim on Monday-Thursday. I think I will try running again on Friday. I am planning to swim in the morning before the meeting in San Leandro.

I would love to try a short one first. I don't know if I could be ready by June. I live close to Fremont. Are you on FACEBOOK?

Thanks for the information.

Bay To Breakers is coming up. My cousin is signed up for it. Might be a good way to start?

I am having issues of eating the wrong things too, maybe we can talk about it at group Saturday?

Running is what I'm having trouble with. I have a lot more work to do with preparing for a long run. I swim almost everyday and I ride my bike. Part of the problem with me is the more I exercise the hungrier I am. I am trying to make good choices, but I am ravenous. See you on Saturday. I am bringing my Mom with me.

Hello!  I have not looked at this site in a while; things have been very busy, haha... Well I had my RNY in 2005, had a baby in 2007 and after losing all that weight I gained it (well not all of it) back.. I was looking to find a support group... and remind people to always... always take your vitamins.. because no matter how long ago your surgery was, if you don’t take it you will pay for it!  I know I am, my health is not so good.   I live in Fremont, and I am just looking for a someone to talk to, and possibly a work out partner...Thanks for listening..
