The Obesity Action Coalition is an IRS registered 501(c)3 National non profit organization dedicated to giving a voice to those affected by obesity. The OAC was formed to build a nationwide coalition of patients to become active advocates and spread the important message of the need for obesity education.
The mission of the OAC is to elevate and empower those affected by obesity through education, advocacy and support. As an education and advocacy organization, the OAC is involved with all issues related to obesity. As such, the OAC has several stated positions on various aspects in obesity. This is a site that is used by the bariatric professionals as a networking site for them. Patients can't really get past the log in for the full details in some studies, etc, but you can usually see some condensed data that is enough to go on that you can check with your surgeon and ask Hey what's this I hear about some study that said...
