My sleeve was done 4/3/10 and I've lost 15 lbs so far. It definately has been an adjustment, but for the first time I'm not suffering while losing weight. I don't get the panic feeling I did when I was on a strict diet and I feel a sense of relief that my struggle is over. I feel that everyone at the clinic treated us very well, and to be honest the care was no different from a very expensice plastic surgeon that did my tummy tuck three years ago. Once the surgery was over I went to my hotel the same day and a friend cared for me there and that was in Utah. The only time I spoke to my doctor after the surger was my scheduled visit a week later and that surgery was harder to recover from. At least in the clinic they had a nurse all night and the doctor checked on us the next day. I felt my experience was a good one and I only had this done after I went with a friend and she did so well. I love the change in my life and am looking forward to being thin without the stress.

Congratulations to both of you! It's not weird to be excited, I swear, the day you have that surgery is the first day of the rest of your sleeved lives...be excited, enjoy it :)
You will never regret this decision, ever. :)

Thanks for being the first to post in the group! I will add my bit as well about my journey :)
I was sleeved December 10th, 2009, and I have lost 77 pounds in 4 1/2 months!
I would have to agree with mice_elf_u when she said it was the best decision she ever made. I will never look back at this choice and regret it. It has saved my life in more ways than one...since making the choice to have the sleeve, I have discarded an extremely unhealthy relationship, gotten an amazing job, and I'm going travelling next year with my best friend around the world! All with my healthy, in shape new body. :)
Now, I refer patients to Dr. Almanza so he can help them change their lives as mine has been changed; I live each day without regret, and I look forward to the future and what it has in store for me!

P.S. Please, post your journey! I would love to see how everyone is doing.

Hi Everyone... I am surprised no one has posted yet! I was sleeved on Feb. 23 and have to say that it was the best decision I have made. I am down over 30 lbs already and almost at the halfway point. I have had the best time down in Tijuana and am now a coordinator for the hospital up here in Canada because I want to share my experience with others. How's everyone doing so far?
