Hi my name is Meme and I have Kaiser insurance. I was wondering if any members of the group has the same insurance and if you were asked to provide 5 years of prior years photos to prove long term obesity or 5 years of past doctor's office weight-ins. I've completed my 6 mos of classes and I'm waiting for my physical endurance test appt (5 laps around the  positive choice building) , but I want to be prepared if this is required. Thanks,

Hi, I have Kaiser also and will graduate from postive choice on October 26th.  Since Kaiser is self contained you should not need to provide anything further.  How long sicne your last class?  Have they scheduled you with the surgeons at PB as of yet?

I completed my class 8/11/09. I didnt loose all of the required weight and had to see Dr. Ray. My appt with him was last week. I have my bariatric fitness test today. After I complete the 5 laps then they'll schedule me for more blood work(if needed) and the gall bladder ultrasound. I'm not sure if Kaiser will refer me to the PB surgeon concurrently or after I've completed the last two steps. The process seems to be moving along quickly. So I hope to have my surgery before Mid October. Congrats for enrolling in classes. Who's your counselor?

Courtney is my counselor.  So I guess you are saying the process goes quicker if you loss the 10%?  Has anyone else from your group had the surgery yet?

Courtney is very nice. My counselor was Nancy. But, yes, your process does go quicker if you loose the 10%. We only had one person in our group that lost 10+% but she was still on the fence about the surgery. So far no one has had it done yet.

So how is the process going?  Did you do your 5 laps around the building?  Keep me posted.

Did my 5 laps and was fine. I have my ultrasound, ekg, & blood work tomorrow. THen I should be done with Kaiser's requirements. Next I should be referred to Pacific Bariatric and finally get to meet my surgeon.

Thanks for keeping me posted.  I am going to start walking around the building so I can build up to the 5 times.  Go figure I can go to cycle class for an hour but walking is a pain.

Good luck.
