Progress update June 1, 2011 9:15 am Well it's been over a month since my surgery to fix my band. I had an upper GI to make sure it still looks good and then have a fill. So everything looks great and he put in 4cc under x-ray which was cool to watch. Don't want to push it to far to fast on the fills. It's been 6 days since my fill and to tell you the truth I dont have much restriction. I don't go back for a month. I am waiting for the two week mark to see if my restriction kicks in. For the longest time it was the two week mark that I would really feel the restriction. So we'll see.
Be the first to leave a comment. At our last support group meeting we had some new people show up, one who will be having his surgery in July and one that is two years out and is struggling. It was nice to have some new faces in the group. There are still a lot of people from my doctors office that could use the support group but choose not to come. At least they haven't said to take them off my email listing when I send out reminders. Well my days are spent figuring out what I am doing wrong with my food habits so that I can loose the 20lbs I gained back. It was easy to fix the outside now I have to finish fixing the inside so I can continue my journey and lose the rest of the weight which isn't to much but it's enough tht it bothers me. So hope everyone is doing well on their journey, please let me know how it's going
My Journey April 26, 2011 7:12 am while the last couple of months have been busy I have also had to deal with medical issue with my band. I still continue to have acid reflux issue and having the fluid in my band taken out more and more. In early april I had an Upper GI done with contract it was discovered that my band had slipped I don't know when why or how. On April 21 I had surgery to put it back in place. Even though it was a difficult suregery due to scar tissue My Doctor was successful in putting back where it belongs. So now I am kind of back to square one and I have to be careful so it doesn't slip again, question is what does being careful mean?
Be the first to leave a comment.I may have been successful in loosing weight but I know I haven't been successful to changing the fact that I love food and I get food cravings. I am also an emotional eater and if the band was to have to be removed I feel that I would fall back to old habit that are only surpressed right now because of the band. My greatest fear is putting back on the wieght. In the very near future I have a new job starting which I am very excited about. I am hoping that getting out of my current job which puts me under great stress right now and starting something new will help me continue to be successful in the rest of my journey and concuring my bad habbits. I hope by putting these thoughts down I can help someone else achieve their goals by realizing that their is someone else out there that is going through the exact same thing.
February meeting February 16, 2011 9:13 am We all have goals we want to reach but wonder why it’s taking so long to get there, so I would like everyone to give this a try and share it at our next meeting. 1. Keep a food journal for at least three days or more 2. Write down what type of exercise you did. (It can be anything) 3. Write down a goal you would like to reach whether is it’s a weight goal, food goal, exercise goal, or a personal goal. 4. Write down something you are grateful for Everyone bring a recipe that has worked for you since your surgery. If you have any favorite protein drinks, vitamin, any type of product you have discovered.
January Support Group meeting February 12, 2011 10:20 pm Our January meeting was really good we had 6 people attend had some new faces. We had a nutritionist come and talk to us. The group seemed to really enjoy it and got some good information from it. We are going to have her back in a couple of months. We all have diferent issues with food, so coming up a menu plan is hard.

December 24, 2010 8:56 am Our December meeting was good even though we only had four people attend. We had a lot of good discussions. We are going to work on getting a nutritionist to come to out January meeting. They also suggested having a physiologist (some one who can explain proper exercise and how it effects our metabolism). We are also going to plan a out at one of our local parks. So over all it was a good evening. January. Our January meeting I want to focus on getting back on track. Some of our members have been stuck at there current weight for some time. Some still have a ways to go to reach there goal weight but the health benefits that they have already happened have been one of the greatest gifts this year.
