Well... it's evening now... but I have had a great day!  I have eaten 99g of protein today; taken all my supplements; parked over 2 blocks away from my meeting, just because I wanted to stretch my legs!  I have gotten all my water in...

This week I have walked over 15 miles!  I am trying to keep it together!

Most importantly... I plan to get a good 8 hours of sleep... and be at support group tomorrow!

Hi Barb,

I took my supliments this morning, more later

Drank a premier protein, it helps me get my protein in.

Top down on the car, putting my bicycle in the back, getting new seat, check up with bike shop so I can ride my bike that has been sitting for years...(bad me)

Costco run later, buy so I can plan out protein at better cost.

Take dogs out on walk... Sierra and Echo, my English Springer Spaniels.

To be thankful I will have surgery, stop freaking out  waiting for the surgery scheduler to call, I am doing my part, so keep focused.

Baby steps are huge because they are the beginning.

Enjoy your walk!

Started my day with a quick protein shake.  Busy in my office all day but will walk my 1/2 mile this afternoon.  (That's huge for me).  Baby steps are better than not taking steps at all  :)

Topic: Good Morning!!

How are you and what are you planning to do today to make it a WLS successful day?

I started the morning thinking about those things I like about my new, slimmer, healthier body: I like the fact that I have a neck :-), I like the fact that my hemochromatosis has been resolved and I don't have to go get a phlebotomy every week, and I like the fact that I can handle heat so much better; 92 now feels like 82 before I lost the weight. Remembering what I appreciate about the way I look and feel really makes it easier to make decisions that help me stay healthy and slim.

I've already taken my first dose of supplements

As soon as I'm done dashing off this post, I'm going to get some lean protein to start my day and remember to start each of my meals/snacks with it.

This evening Ben and I will take our dogs for another walk as we explore our new neighborhood. It's amazing how you find the hills when you are walking it and don't even see them when driving.

So, what are you planning for today?

I was having so much fun I almost missed it.....but Thursday 9-9-10 I received an email saying happy one year anniversary of your surgery....1 YEAR is that even possible...121 pounds 50 inches gone....in one year....no more asthma, no constantly taking ibuprofen for pain in the ankles, knees, hips, back....no more tight clothes...no more worrying if I will fit in a chair, an airplane seat, a tight space....NO MORE I CAN'T....because I'm tooo fat to do it. Life has become all about what I CAN do now.

I understood going into the surgery process, nothing will change if I don't change.....and boy have I changed.

The biggest change is that NO MORE are the words I CAN't allowed in our house, by grownups or grandchildren. Everything is a possibility, and everything must be tried at least once!!!!!Life is so exciting and everyday brings something new to embrace when you open up that 6" space between your ears and experience life. I CAN becomes a way of life quickly if you let it.

Like most of us, I have times when I just don't take as care of myself as I should. I have started to do something that seems to be helping me focus on doing the things that I need to do and I thought I'd share it with you. I now start my day thinking about something I appreciate in each of the following categories: appearance, health and quality of life. I started doing this because I had started focusing on negative things, such as my turkey neck or that I wasn't doing something I should be doing. This little morning exercise makes me take a moment to focus on why I did this and then what I 'WANT' to do to keep the those things in place... The things I like vary, but the impact of this has been huge. I can get a little too focused on my excess skin and that's why I decided to find something I like about my appearance. I try to find something that I appreciate about my health and quality of life because it makes me focus on why I want to make choices that will allow me to continue to enjoy my improved health and quality of life.

I am just past my 10% waiting my date fir surgery. What I have noticed so far,

I am no longer in size 18 pants, actually I have a well fitting size 14 and feel great iin them.

My feet have stopped swelling, I can wear my new taller flip flops!!

I went to a reunion and DANCED!!! (for about a hour plus all in all)

My face is not as round any more.

I fit in a bathing suit, (actually it is a bit to big) but I am out in the pool swimming with others.

I do not get out of breath like before!

I am getting compliments again... who does not like this...lol
