I am truly sorry that this happened to your husband. I think back and thats my oldest sons Birthday. We had a great day and now I see this and know that while we had a good time someone had a horrible event take place. My heart is heavy for you and your children. I wish I could do something to help you and your family... I live in MD but want you to know that we are all here for you. You must take care of yourself as I am sure thats what your hubby would want. You also need to hug your kids and hold them tight. I mean as tight as you can... If needed get them into therapy...It will save them now and way down the road... If you need to talk just PM me I am here for you...

Group Hug to you and your family... Pray to God and ask for help he wont let you down. Ask him to send Angels to surround your home and family. I am sending you a couple to start...    May your husband Robert Lopez rest in peace in the arms of the Angels and God above... God Bless you and your family....

Hi,  my name is Nanci, I am a happily married (29years on 4/ 19) to a wonderful man. We have two great kids Lacy 25 and Zachary 18. My husband and I are both Nurses. I started to have issues with my weight when I was in the 8th grade. i remember getting weighed in gym class and being humilated because I weighed 190lbs. I'm 5'9 and big boned but  most kids back then weighed a lot less. It's funny now 190 seems like a awesome weight. I have gained and lost tons of weight since I was 20. I could always lose it, but never keep it off. Two years ago I was going to have a RNY done but 5 weeks out from surgery my always intrusive motherinlaw and a few friends talked me out of it. They went so far as to tell my husband he would lose me, that I could die on the table. They convinced me that I had done it on my own before, I could do it again. Well two years later, I was 30 lbs heavier at a all time high of 297!!!! I have sleep apnea, HBP, Diabetes, gerd and I always feel like i'm running on empty. So I started the Albany Medical center Bariatric program on 1/8/09 and i've jumped through the hoops and managed to lose 44lbs (go me!!). I have only told my hubby and kids what i'm doing and they are supporting me 100%. My mother died at 51 and her mother at 36, both had severe health problems due to weight. I explained to my hubby that if i dont have the surgery, he could lose me. So my date is April 21st, I got my Ins. approval, my hubbys on board and i'm ready to be the person I know I can be. I've won lots of battles, time to win the war.

Oh sweetie - I am so sorry to read this. I know the grief you're feeling right now is absolutely overwhelming. Don't try and do to much right now. Simply do the basics for a while. Make sure you take care of yourself and keep yourself healthy - you'll be no use to your kids if you don't. Your kids need you so much right now. Don't be afraid to let your kids see your emotions. My boys were 9 &11 when their daddy died suddenly. They've seen every emotion that I went through. They knew how much I missed them and it helped them realize that it was OK for them to have a ton of emotions too.

Sweetie - the sun will shine again. I know it doesn't feel that way right now and you may be wishing that it wouldn't  - but it will. Please, please, please make sure you give yourself time - you need time to grieve and heal. There will come a time when you'll no longer be haunted by your memories but you'll find comfort in them.

Keep an extra eye on your kids. Maybe enlist the help of a family member or friend to watch them. If at any point you feel that they're becoming overly depressed find a counselor for them. One of the signs in my boys was the youngest wouldn't bring up his Daddy. He'd join a conversation but he wouldn't start it. We also went through seperation anxiety every time I walked out the door. There will be some ups and downs ahead of you but you can do it. You've proven that by reaching out and sharing with us. Feel free to pm me anytime you want to talk. I'm on here most all day long. weekends can be a little sporadic but I promise you that I'll respond to you.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My heart is breaking for you and your children. Of course everything suffers when you are slapped in the face with a tragedy like this. Please force yourself to eat something, anything. You are going to have to keep your strength up, especially for the kids. I will keep you and your children in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself. Rest in Peace Robert Lopez.   Leslie :(
