I keep a Daily Food Journal, of what I eat and drink.

I also weight each morning when I get up.  I also get rid of my larger size clothes, I am now now in a size 6, so all of my 8's and 10's are going, going, gone.

I am a Lap-Bander and I have done very well.  I am i year Post-Op and I have lost as of today 118 Pounds.  I am 3 pounds below my Target Weight.   I am very comfortable being this size and I feel Great.

When my Husband and I go out to Dinner We Share A Meal.  That way I eat my small portion, and then my husband eats the rest.  Bless him, he's my Number One Supporter.

I am featured 3 times this month in the OH Magazine.  Page 10, 30, and 48.  I am so Happy of My New Journey Of Life.

Hi Mary,

If you are talking about the cross-posting to the various forums, then that is something that I will continue do because I find others who don't post on other forums that find the information helpful. To be honest, it is often through my cross-posts that many become members of my group. I don't do it to 'grow my group' but because I know that many people stick to their own surgery board and when I have a post that i think would be thought provoking across the board, I cross post.

I really hope that when you see the multiple posts that you'll bear with me, but if it's too much of an inconvenience, I can remove you from my friends and Loser's Bench group so that they won't appear on your start page. I truly apologize for any inconvience it has caused. I hope you will hang in there with me because I look forward to getting to know you as you make your way on this incredible journey.

Barbara.
I checked the post on my start page and I think the duplicate post are because you are posting to 12 different forums along with the original  private message to the members.
Because the post are to different forums.

I only got one private message from you so that is working OK.
I was talking about the start page where you see what your friends post. I thought that was what the other person meant too.

And I am sure you will get it worked out.  And if that is the way OH is, so be it. No problem here.
I was not annoyed with the post. I just thought you wanted a some feed back on how things were working..
Glad to be part of your group.

And Thank You for your kind words.Smile

Good Luck.

Hi Mary,

First of all, please let me assure you that I am not SPAMMING you. It appears that there may be some problem for some people that I send PMs to, but this is a technical glitch, not something that I am 'doing'. I have myself on the distribution as well, so that I get everything that is sent out to the group. I am only getting one message, but I got a note from BW indicating that she also got multiple copies of my notes. I will contact OH Te*****al support about this issue to see if they can get a resolution. In the meantime, I can only offer two suggestions; you can hang in there with me and just delete the extra messages you recieve until the OH techinical staff can identify and resolve the problem or if you would like me to remove you from the group, I can do that so that you will no longer get my incoming messages and not have to worry about getting the many multiple copies of any single message I send. I truly apologize for inconvenience and frustration it is causing you.

I think that the fact that you have already started your journey and that you recognize the fact that the surgery is just one leg of that journey, is PHENOMINAL! It really has you ahead of the game. Many people think that the surgery and resulting weightloss IS the journey..., you are so far ahead of the game and that in itself is likely to help you be very successful in the longterm. Also the early recognition that it's important to be accountable is crucial.

I think you are going to do very well.

Again, please do accept my apologies and let me know how you would like me to hand the unfortunate issue of your receiving multiple copies of my PM's to you.

Thank you,

Barbara

I got one distribution but the post is numerous. 12 post. Makes me feel like I am being spammed.
on my start page. Don't get me wrong I would love to see you post on my start page but once is enough. Too many makes me, a person who does not know you, Think your belligerent.

I am just starting my journey My surgery is 10/29, next Thursday, But I have found in the last 5 months that being accountable is the only way to be successful.

one way I am accountable is to really scrutinize my food choices. When in doubt DON"T!

And I a have a set of rules that I have developed over the past few months that have helped me to lose 51 lbs. pre surgery Scale

Hi Marcy,

What we do to keep ourselves accountable isn't quite as important  the fact the we do something. Each of us is different. I need to get on the scale everyday, but I don't log my food everyday anymore. That doesn't make what I do better, it's just what works for me. I know a lot of people post what they eat on the boards, but I found that it doesn't work for me. Since you are actively working on doing things that allow you to 'measure' the effectiveness and success of your journey, that's what is most important and statistics show that those who do what you are doing are most likely to be successful in the long term.

To keep myself accountable..I also got rid of all of my "fat" clothes.  I can tell if my things don't fit properly.
I also , even after 14 months, measure my food.  I still track everything I eat in a food journal..and I go to my support group meetings weekly.  I have a fear of gaining the weight..but right now I'm still on track.  I don't weigh myself everyday...but I do weigh myself weekly at the drs. when I go in for my allergy shot.

I also..walk everywhere.  I park farther away from stores and I walk, walk, walk.  I even ride a recumbent bike at home.

I sure hope all of this helps me , cause I really don't ever want to weigh 347 again!!!

BW,

I honestly have a bunch of 'em... LOL. The really cheap versions aren't worth the money I have spent on them, for the most part. I find that the ones that run at least 10 to 15 dollars seem to be most reliable and effective. I can't even tell what brands I've used. The ones that I've gotten and liked have been from TJ Maxx, Target, Walmart and Dick's.

I wish I was able to be more helpful.

Hi BW,

I'm not sure why the repeat numerous times either. I'm also on the distribution and I only get one message. How many do you get? Is number of repeat messages consistent? I may need to contact the development team at OH if this is a significant problem.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience.
