The Loser's Bench
6 wk post op
I am 6wk post op (I think) 9 days ago my Dad died, I believe I told you guys and many kind words were said. I'm doing ok, and I know if this had happened before my surgery, I would have eaten myself sick and put on 30lb. So I guess on some level, I have handled this better. Now that most of the stuff has been divided among family and the person he wants in the house is there...I guess everything is going to calm down. I have to concentrate now on eating and drinking enough, and getting some exercise.
Hi Kat,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my father 12 years ago. I found that the searing pain of the immediate loss ebbed with time as warm memories helped to fill the void. Now, I often smile when I think of him and it comforts me.
Congratulations on your weight loss. I'm sure that your father would be so very proud of all of the work you are doing and be so pleased for the improved health and quality of life you are enjoying as you lose weight and regain your health.
Take care of yourself,
Barbara

I'm so sorry for your loss! *hugs*
One positive thing about having had this surgery - and being so new post op, is that it''s forcing you to deal with the emotions...instead of stuffing them into food. This is a GOOD thing. Have you considered seeing a counselor? One might be able to help you deal with this without the food that we're so used to having as a way of coping...just an idea.
Sending prayers your way...
