Food "Bucket-List": Good Idea or Not?

I have read that some people recommend this idea and some do not. As my surgery date rapidly approaches, my thoughts of food and loss become greater. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts regarding a food "bucket-list"?

Hi Donna,

I really thought that there would be a lot of things I wouldn't be able to enjoy after I had WLS, but I have to say that I haven't found that to be true for me. Early on, there were some things that I paid a price for if I tried them, but now that I'm over a year and half out, I have to say that there really isn't much that I can't enjoy. Now, the difference is that I have much less and I lead with protien and complex carbs. While some people really do have foods that they will never be able to enjoy again, the vast majority of us are able to eat normally. But, I should say that eating normally for me now, is a very different experience than it was during the first days, weeks and months following surgery. It's also different than it was before surgery. I don't 'gorge' like I used to.

I wish that I someone had told me that before my surgery. I was so worried that I would never be able to enjoy this or that. I have to say that I haven't found that to be true.

Wishing you every success my friend.

Love,

Barbara
