I think it's a viscious cycle Fran. If I don't work out my energy level goes down, which makes me want to work out less. I need to just suck it up and do it, or I'm going to end up right back where I was - lazy and not wanting to move. I can't have that!

Good luck with the cookies Mag! It's funny, since I have been back to work this week, I don't have the desire to eat the sweets on the table anymore. There's still plenty out there, and I pass them everytime I go the copier, bathroom or kitchen, but they're not calling my name anymore. Must be cookie'd out! I made deviled eggs Monday, and packed a few in a container and brought them to work for some extra protien. That seems to be working out well. Walking in the store is a good idea too Mag. I'll have to give that a whirl. Oh, oh! I also just got in the mail the Jillian Michaels 6 Week 6 Pack DVD. Got it on Amazon for $4. I know I'll never have a 6 pack, but for some reason I really like working out my core muscles. Feels good!

Hi Sam,
I think you're right about the difference bewtween diet alone and diet AND exercise.
I've only been to one Monarch meeting. I was still in the hospital after my surgery. I think it was the day after my surgery. Dr. O'Malley said it was okay for me to leave my floor for the meeting. Rochester is a haul for me, but I think I may need to make time and just go. I mean it's only once a month, right?

Hello Juan,
I don't want to burst you bubble but you may find that hard boiled egg hard to eat as it will be dry. I still have problems with them. You may want to buy some low fat mayonaise to mix in with your egg.
Good Luck!

Hi Kathy,
I'm having trouble with the days of the week, too. I thought of chat this afternoon, but realized that I was a day off. We don't take our tree down until January, but I got a lot of the house back in order after 2 days of baking. Now to tackle my room. People keep giving me clothes as I lose which is great, but about every 4 to 6 weeks I'm going through all the clothes as to what fit and what doesn't. Somethings have gone to the resale shop with tags still on because I dropped so much weight this fall I couldn't wear them long. I'm pleased to report that I did not gain over the Christmas season. Probably the first time in my life. lol Hugs, Mag

Yes they do get old quickly. I tolerated the carnation instant breakfast (sugarfree) with protein powder added the easiest during those post op days.

Congratulations Juan!!!!
I recall the relief of no insulin like it was yesterday. Took my last insulin shot 09/01/09, the night before my surgery. I still have diabetes, but can control it with diet, exercise and pills.
Enjoy this time of rapid weight loss, you should get clearance from your MD to advance your diet. Take things one small bite at a time. Happy Losing!!!!

Topic: This week is messed up
I have been MIA for awhile again, life gets sooooo busy. I woke up yesterday, thinking "yayyyy, chat tonight". This lasted until I realized that I lost a day with the Christmas holiday and found that monday was long gone. I will be looking forward to the first chat session of 2012. Just need to get my days of the week straight.
I hope a Merry Christmas was had by all and wish you all the best of the New Year.
