Hi Doug,
I think I've told you my story but I love to tell it. I am 1 year, 2 weeks and 4 days post-op. I lost 33 pounds before surgery and 141 since surgery. I've been lax with eating this past month as a reward for working so hard for the year. It is a poor way to celebrate and will be back on the stick now. I have 39 pounds to go to my personal goal. My doctor doesn't believe in setting goals per say and that I will know the right weight when I get there.

Hello! I was doing so good this morning at wor****il I had lunch with coworkers and we ordered Panera. I had 1/2 a chicken sandwich and a cup of clam chowdre. Of course this was too much food so I ended up getting the burps and that like regurgiating thing..you know the peristalsis..where the food seems like its coming back up? And your pouch makes all sorts of noise? Oh so embarassing when I am ina quite room with a patient and taking their bp! I have to admit I have drank fluids with food all along..I never wait. I guess I don't see whay I need to at 2 yrs out. Can someone explain this? And does anyone else get extremely tired after eating too much? Like gonna nap any second?? I know my own fault..AGAIN.

Topic: RE: Just joined and could really use some support!!!
Kristen, welcome to the group. I had RNY 2 months after you. Yes, it is easy to return to old eating habits, but NOOOOOO, don't do it. Fran listed wonderful advice. Do get into counselling to deal with the emotional issues, journal and log foods. Include your son in activity, walking together is great. Best of luck with the schooling, I am a big fan of improving your mind.
Try to attend the monday evening chat sessions here on the bariatric buddy page. The immediate feedback helps. We are all human and the support makes a difference. Find a local wls support group to join if you can.
Here's to resolving all your life issues ((((((Hugs)))))). Looking forward to reading more of your story in posts. Post here before you consider any emotional eating, putting the thoughts down here, anywhere goes a long ways. Start a jar of alternatives to snacking. Pick something out of the jar, do it for 10 minutes and then reassess the need to eat. Put ideas in the jar that you can and will try. Walk for 10 minutes, soak in the tub, call a friend, journal, light a scented candle, go to a different room in your place, walk a couple of flights of steps, etc. I will post a list to share with the entire group. Let us know how this works!!
Focus on protein first. Even at over 2 years out, my pouch works on portion control. Listen to your body signals that your pouch is full. Stop at or just before "satisfied", do not encroach on "stuffed". Increase your water intake, often thirst is confused with hunger.

Topic: RE: Muscle Milk & Picture Comparison
Doug, please post before and after pics here, love to see the difference almost 200# makes. Haven't tried the muscle milk myself, like Fran, getting most of my protein through food sources.
I had RNY sept 2009 and am down over 115#. Working the program to try to keep losing a little more. I am over 2 years out and needing to do the old fashioned things like exercise.

congrats on your weight loss. Keep up the good work. Love the muscle milk. I have not tried the light one yet though. I am getting in most of my protein thru foods. If i do drink my protein I use the syntrax nectars and have recently been drinking the boost high Protein.
I am 13 months out from RNY. I have lost a little over 100 pounds. Loving it and wouldnt change anything. Have tons of energy!
