Topic: Feeling nervous and scared
Hi everyone!!! I am 3 weeks Pre-op and so nervous... My sister just got the same surgery I am getting (RNY) and I see what she is going thru and the pain and all the ups and downs and scares me so much... A thought even crossed my mind like why am I doing this and I reassure myself that its for a better life and new healthy me... Does anyone have any experiences or tips on how to shake this feeling?

Hi Gang,
Wasn't that a great football game? It doesn't hurt that the Giants won. I like Eli and the guys. Plus don't care for the Pats' coach. Have a great day. Mag

Topic: RE: Dumping???
Hi Again,
After reading your post carefully, I see you are further out than me. So take what I say with a grain of salt. When I dump I'm sicker than sick. I don't just have bad, bad reflux. I vomit. My doctor described it best when he said it feels like a heart attack because that pain at the pouch is sooo bad. It last quite a while and there is no way I'd be able to work for a few hours. Also there is sometimes (or most times for me) some stool problems shortly afterwords. So the name "dumping." What you are describing sounds more like the terrible feeling of over-stuffing our pouch. I know you know all this and I'm not trying to teach you as I know there is much you can teach me. All I can do is give you what I think in terms of my short walk on this wonderful WLS journey. Good luck on your continued sucess. Glad to meet you. Mag

Kathy, Thanks for the heads-up about leaving the laptop at home. Have a wonderful time with our dear friend and fearless leader. I'll be on a few times a day to hold down the fort until you are back. Kisses and hugs Mag

KATHY,
I saved both lists to word document. It was easy. I think I'll do that trick of putting them in a jar and pulling one out when needed. Mag

Hi Fran,
Feeling soooo much better. Able to move without constant pain and the pain level is way down. My doctor is sending me back to PT. I don't know how I'm going to pay for it, but things have a way of working out. Walking later today by myself. My friend doesn't walk on weekends. I'm not sure why. Mag

Topic: RE: Just joined and could really use some support!!!
Hi Kristen,
Nice to meet you. I'm 1 year out and lost 141 pounds since my surgery (33 before surgery) We have all dropped the ball at one point or another. You are not alone. The main thing is that you are now responding in a positive way to help yourself to a new way of doing things. Fran and Kathy have given very sound advice. I agree with them all the way. Support is sooo very important. You have so much on your plate. I know it is difficult. I wish I could take so stress away for you. I am here to listen and encourage. Mag
