The only produnt that I found that works for me is Natural Calm from Natural Vitality.
It is a magnesium supplement. I take it just before bed. After I mix it I let it sit a little becuase it has a tiny evervesence to it. You can purchase at The Vitamin Shoppe or on Amazon. A little really does alot.
Things get better with time. Just give time Time.

Thank you Kathy and Mag.  My scope went very well.  They found that the scar tissue around the connection between my pouch and the intestinal limb attached below it had constricted the food path by half.  They used a balloon to increase the size of the path back to normal.  I instantly felt a change.  I ate lunch and dinner with no problems and was able to take my meds again with water.  I am so glad they solved it so easily.  As for any future constipation, I will take your advice.  Thanks ever so much and I will definitely be at the chat - I had marked it on my calendar.  I am excited to have found this site and your group and look forward to chatting with you all :)

Hi Lexsan,

I started out with the thought of having a lap band, but after research and soul searching I chose the RNY. I had so many health issues I needed to do something asap. Now I've lost 33# pre-op and over 140# in the 1 year since my surgery. I would do it in a flash. Off of B/P, cardiac and several other meds. It's a new and wonderful life.
It must be your decision. It's a tough one. We are here to support you in whatever decision you make.
Nice to meet you. Monday night chat is at 7PM Eastern, 6PM central, 5PM mountain, and 4PM pacific. Hope we will see you there.    Mag

Topic: RE: Appointments and Waiting
Hi Anna, welcome to bariatric buddy group.  The time waiting for appts seems to drag on.  Use this time to start the new habits that will be life after surgery.  The insurance companies have us wondering,  but the process works.  I am glad that I had the time to adjust my mindset on eating before the surgery happened.

Use this time to get used to smaller plates, smaller bites, chewing thouroughly and separating food from fluid intake.  I had the hardest time not drinking with my meals before surgery.  This is sooo much easier after surgery when there is not room for both solid and liquid in your pouch at the same time.

Welcome the the group Lexsan.  Figuring out which surgery is always a big question.

I was also considering lap band when I started researching, because of the small incisions needed.  I found out that most of the procedures can be done laprascopically or with the small incisions.  I talked with my surgeon, we reviewed my health issues and decided that RNY was my best option.  Now, I am thrilled with the results, the threat of dumping stops me from indulging in trigger foods that I would had leaned on in the past to deal with stresses.

Take the time to make a list of the 'pro' and 'con' of each surgery your are considering.  Do the research and then follow the plan set up with your surgeon.  As far as complications later in life, I will take them as they come, the complications of a lifetime of morbid obesity scared me more.   I would do the wls over again if needed.  Loving that there is less of me for my body to carry about.  Busy living life instead of watching it pass on by.

Come share often, we are here for support of each other.
