Best of luck throughout the process! I remember anticipating my surgery date and the emotions all around that.  This is a great group and if you have any questions or need suport just reach out.

I had RNY in late-October and I have only had ONE "normal" bowel movement since. Since surgery, they have ALL been extremely loose, basically liquid consistency. I too am over it but my surgeons team doesn't seem too concerned! Sorry I can't be more help!

Kathy,

Thank you very much, I trust that the state will do what is best for my parents and my sister and I were able to pick a guardian for them so we can step back and know they will be ok. Now I get to work on myself and recover from all this.... So thankful I am heading back to tx Friday morning.

Hugs, Lisa

Topic: New, just saying hello!
I had RNY back in October 2010.  I'm down 146 pounds and feel GREAT!  I've visited this site numerous times, but never officially joined.  I look forward to interacting with all of you!

I'm having difficulty with maintaining my weight, I can't seem to STOP losing weight.  I am currently about 20 pounds below my surgeons "ideal" weight.  I don't generally get real hungry and when I do I still can't eat much.  That being said, there were two days last week that I was able to eat way more than I thought I should be able to, and I never got sick.  Not sure why after eating so much I didn't get sick or naucious, that kind of makes me nervous especially since there were bread carbs involved (try to eat more carbs and fat in order to gain weight).  Both times I ate a lot were at a salad bar and included cheese, dressing, croutons, bite-sized biscuits, beans, and crackers.  Anyone have an idea why I wouldn't have gotten sick?

At 6 months out, how much are you/were you able to eat?

Thanks for your advice and support!  Being relatively new, I'm still worried about stretching my stomach out!

I'm sooo excited...I go for my titration on May 24th.  I just hope I can get to sleep in a timely manner this time.  I find it so difficult when I have all those wires and goop on my head...lol

Topic: Hoping for my life changing surgery soon
Hi My name is Tammie. I am hoping for my surgery to happen at towards the end of next month. All my requirements are done except I am waiting on going back to the sleep center for a 2nd time. They said I have moderate sleep apnea. I just had my final consult with my surgeon yesterday and so just waiting on that to happen then going for my pre op stuff. I'm so glad I found you guys. I feel a little alone in this. For the last couple of weeks I've been letting family and friends know about what is happening and I've answered so many questions and listened to "why would you have unnecessary surgery? Can't you just try harder to diet?" Ughhhh....They don't understand that this decision isn't an overnight one or one that is taken lightly. For me, I started on this journey last July. Since then meeting with doctors, nutritionists and going to informational meetings and support groups. I have been a yo-yo dieter all my life and with every diet, came more weight...I now weigh 261 and I'm thrilled, scared and every other emotion I can think of about having this surgery. Mainly I can't wait to feel healthy again and being able to get off all my meds would be a dream come true!
So Thanks again for this wonderful site!!! I love reading how everyone is doing on their journeys to a more healthy life

Thanks to all for the suggestions.  It seems that I had a breakthrough and the metallic taste is gone from my mouth.  Hubby made pork chops last night.  I had a few bites of pork chop, half a small baked potato with sour cream and butter an ice cream sandwich and a frosted sugar cookie.  Everything tasted GOOD!!!!!!

Right now I am having coffee and am going to either make toast or hit the drive through at Burger King.  I had coffee for the first time in almost 2 months yesterday.  My surgeon isn't anti-coffee like some are.

I feel pretty good again today.  I saw my doctor yesterday and he upped the dosage on my vertigo medication and lowered the dosage on the one I take for adult ADD.

Thanks again to all *****sponded.

I'm sorry you are going through this situation, and I will send positive thoughts your way. I can only repeat what everyone else has suggested.  Try to see a Dr as soon as you can, they have to figure this out for you. Also, just keep sipping at those protein shakes and maybe mix it up a bit with some carnation instant breakfast, boost, or even ensure.  Best of luck!
